    摘要: A method and apparatus for treating gas introduced into a vessel containing a particulate material at a temperature less than that of the gas in a manner so that said material reduces the temperature of the gas and the gas entrains at least a portion of the material. The entrained material is then separated from the gas and passed to a heat exchanger to cool the material while the separated gas is passed to a turbine to drive same. At least a portion of the exhaust gas from the turbine is passed to the heat exchanger in a manner to fluidize the material in the heat exchanger and the cooled separated material is returned back to the vessel.

    摘要: A process for cooling and purifying a hot gas containing slag particles comprises the following steps:(a) the velocity of the gas mixture is reduced;(b) the flow of the gas mixture having a reduced velocity is deflected, the gas mixture being passed upward in substantially vertical direction so that part of the slag particles falls down into a fluidized bed of slag particles;(c) cold clean recycle gas is introduced through a fluidization distributor into the fluidized bed, thereby cooling the slag particles and keeping at least part of the slag particles in the fluidized bed;(d) the gas mixture flowing substantially vertically upward at reduced velocity is cooled by indirect exchange of heat, while a further quantity of slag particles falls down into the fluidized bed; and(e) the cooled slag particles are discharged from the bottom of the fluidized bed through a discharge pipe.An apparatus to carry out this procedure is also described.

    摘要: A vapor generating system in which a furnace section is provided that is formed by four upright walls. A plurality of openings are formed in one of the walls, and a plurality of gasifiers extend adjacent said one wall and surround the openings so that the respective interiors of the gasifiers communicate with the openings. A bed of adsorbent material is supported in each gasifier for adsorbing the sulfur generated as a result of the gasification of fuel introduced into the gasifier, and air is passed through the bed of adsorbent material to fluidize said material so that, upon combustion of said fuel, a substantially sulfur-free product gas is produced which passes from the gasifier, through the openings and into the furnace section.

    摘要: A process and apparatus for producing a low sulfur content hot reducing gas by desulfurizing hot reducing gas by contacting the sulfur-bearing hot reducing gas or carbonaceous material with a particulate calcium oxide desulfurizing agent to thereby produce a product gas stream and a byproduct calcium sulfide composition, and then recovering sulfur from the calcium sulfide composition by contacting the calcium sulfide composition with hot liquid water at a temperature and corresponding pressure sufficient to maintain steam in the system and wherein a major portion of the calcium sulfide composition has a particle size of less than about 6 mesh to thereby convert the sulfide to calcium hydroxide and hydrogen sulfide. A preferred process uses this low sulfur content gas to reduce iron ore, and especially wherein ore, calcium oxide and carbonaceous material are reacted in a shaft furnace.

The tar removal device includes a tar separation unit (2) that introduces the gasification gas from the gasification furnace to fluidize the circulating particles (B) so as to adhere the tar in the gasification gas to the circulating particles, and a tar combustion unit (3) that introduces the circulating particles to which the tar is adhered at the tar separation unit, fluidizes the circulating particles using air (15) so as to burn the tar adhered to the circulating particles, supplies the combustion gas (16) in which the tar is burnt to the combustion furnace as a gas for combustion, and returns the circulating particles from which the tar is burnt and removed to the combustion furnace.
