    摘要: In a CORBA partial restart system in a built-in device, a sole restart of a CORBA library, a server and a client can be carried out without restarting the whole built-in device.     摘要: The present invention provides a method for testing and diagnosing a cable modem termination system, using a hand-held computing device. The hand-held computing device establishes a connection with the cable modem termination system through a wireless infrared and radio frequency connection, a serial, or a local area network connection. After the connection is established, a set of commands residing in the hand-held device are transmitted to configure the cable modem termination system. The cable modem termination system sends back a response that is displayed on a command screen of the hand-held device to identify status and error messages. A cable modem termination system operator can send a set of configuration instructions to the cable modem termination system by utilizing stored sets of configuration instructions. Using the hand-held device allows easy accessibility in remote locations with limited space for diagnostics and equipment.

Then, to properly balance data path traffic, the number of I/O requests that have been sent along each data path of a plurality of data paths providing access to the computer I/O device is detected, and a failure probability is calculated for each data path paths based on the number of I/O requests that have been sent along each data path. The memory controller includes access control logic operable to receive a memory access request that references at least one memory address. It further includes a fake response record operable to record a fake response indication for an address for which a response is to be faked. By providing such a faked response, an embodiment of the invention is able avoid multiple exceptions for the same memory location in a CPU. The memory controller can be implemented in an integrated circuit. It can form part of a memory subsystem including the memory controller and at least one memory unit in an integrated circuit.

    摘要: A cluster implements a virtual disk system that provides each node of the cluster access to each storage device of the cluster. The virtual disk system provides high availability such that a storage device may be accessed and data access requests are reliably completed even in the presence of a failure. To ensure consistent mapping and file permission data among the nodes, data are stored in a highly available cluster database. Because the cluster database provides consistent data to the nodes even in the presence of a failure, each node will have consistent mapping and file permission data. A cluster transport interface is provided that establishes links between the nodes and manages the links. Messages received by the cluster transports interface are conveyed to the destination node via one or more links. The configuration of a cluster may be modified during operation. Prior to modifying the configuration, a reconfiguration procedure suspends data access requests and waits for pending data access requests to complete. The reconfiguration is performed and the mapping is modified to reflect the new configuration. The node then updates the internal representation of the mapping and resumes issuing data access requests.
