    摘要: A trip assembly is for an electrical switching apparatus. The electrical switching apparatus includes a housing, a reset assembly, an electrical communication assembly, separable contacts, and an operating mechanism for opening and closing the separable contacts. The operating mechanism includes a trip bar and a crossbar. The trip assembly includes: a mounting assembly coupled to the housing; an actuating element coupled to the mounting assembly, the actuating element being electrically connected to the electrical communication assembly; a trip cam coupled to the mounting assembly, the trip cam cooperating with the reset assembly in order to reset the actuating element; and an indication assembly coupled to the mounting assembly. The actuating element is structured to drive the trip cam into the trip bar in order to trip open the separable contacts. The actuating element cooperates with the indication assembly to electrically communicate a circuit status to the electrical communication assembly.

    摘要: A circuit breaker includes a movable contact, a fixed contact, a switching device, a switching operation handle, and an over-current tripping device. The switching device has a switching lever connected to the handle, a toggle linkage having an upper link and a lower link for connecting to the movable contact, a tripping mechanism for activating the toggle linkage in response to over-current, and an operation spring tightly stretched between the switching lever and the toggle linkage. A locking member is provided in the switching device for interconnecting the toggle linkage and the switching lever and for restricting a movement range of the switching lever according to an operational position of the toggle linkage. When main-circuit contact points are stuck, the locking member restricts the movement of the switching lever and prevents the handle from moving to the OFF position.

    摘要: A moulded case circuit breaker has a toggle-joint mechanism, articulated on a hook and on a moving contact support. The toggle joint includes a swivel pin movably engaged in an aperture of the hook. When tripping takes place, the released hook pushes the toggle-joint, via the swivel pin and aperture, into a broken position to accelerate opening of the contacts. In the closed position, the toggle-joint is practically perpendicular to the hook.

    摘要: A pair of main contacts and a pair of arcing contacts are electrically and mechanically interconnected within a current limiting circuit interrupter. A common operator biases the main contacts in a closed contact condition, while simultaneously biasing the arcing contacts to an open condition. A contact driver operating to open the main contacts simultaneously closes the arcing contacts causing circuit current to pass through both the main and arcing contacts. Further displacement of the moving contacts completely directs the circuit current through the arcing contacts for electromagnetic repulsion and arcing within a magnetic structure.

    摘要: A molded case circuit breaker includes a highly integrated operating mechanism having an over-center, trip-free, pivot transfer toggle mechanism for opening and closing a pair of electrical contacts in response to overload and short circuit or fault current conditions. The toggle mechanism includes a pair of stationary, spaced apart links and a pair of movable, spaced apart toggle links. Each of the movable links includes an integrally formed, first or initial pivot point formed along its surface for engagement with a surface of one of the stationary links. Each of the stationary links includes a second pivot point formed along its surface for engagement by a surface of one of the movable links. The movable links are sequentially pivotably movable during a trip operation of the circuit breaker initially about the first pivot points and subsequently about the second pivot points. The movement of the movable links about the first pivot points effect a rapid separation of the electrical contacts at the beginning of the trip operation. The movement of the movable links about the second pivot points effect a rapid acceleration of a movable electrical contact during a subsequent portion of the trip operation to increase the arc voltage and thus rapidly extinguish any electrical arc between the electrical contacts.
