    摘要: A corrosion inhibitor for use in aqueous fluids, e.g. brine, which contact a metal surface, contains a blend or cross-linked reaction product of a main chain type polybenzoxazine (MCTPB) and a chitosan component selected from the group consisting of chitosan, chitosan glycol, and combinations thereof. The MCTPB can be made by reacting formaldehyde, bisphenol A, and tetraethylenepentamine (TEPA). The corrosion inhibitor may contain a small amount of an inorganic acid and/or an organic acid. Suitable organic acids include, but are not necessarily limited to organic acid selected from the group of carboxylic acid consisting of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, valeric acid, caproic acid, citric acid, oxalic acid, malic acid, lactic acid, benzoic acid, or selected from the group of sulfonic acids consisting of p-toluenesulfonic acid, trifluoromethanesulfonic acid, 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, alkyl-aryl-sulfonic acids such as dodecylbenzenesulfonate, polymeric sulfonic acids, fluorinated derivatives of these organic acids, and combinations thereof.

    摘要: A process for chemical mechanical polishing a substrate containing tungsten is disclosed to reduce corrosion rate and inhibit dishing of the tungsten and erosion of underlying dielectrics. The process includes providing a substrate; providing a polishing composition, containing, as initial components: water; an oxidizing agent; a thiolalkoxy compound; a dicarboxylic acid, a source of iron ions; a colloidal silica abrasive; and, optionally a pH adjusting agent; providing a chemical mechanical polishing pad, having a polishing surface; creating dynamic contact at an interface between the polishing pad and the substrate; and dispensing the polishing composition onto the polishing surface at or near the interface between the polishing pad and the substrate; wherein some of the tungsten (W) is polished away from the substrate, corrosion rate is reduced, dishing of the tungsten (W) is inhibited as well as erosion of dielectrics underlying the tungsten (W).

    摘要: Disclosed are inhibitor/cleaner compositions comprising alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates, and methods of inhibiting corrosion of and removing schmoo from metal containments in contact with corrosive water sources. Also disclosed are metal containment assemblages comprising inhibitor/cleaner compositions and metal containment therefore. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates are soluble or substantially soluble in the water sources and inhibit corrosion of the metal containments by the water sources containing corrodents. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates also remove schmoo from the metal containments. The inhibitor/cleaners of the invention are useful for addition to produced waters and other corrosive water sources resulting from enhanced oil recovery operations. The inhibitor/cleaners inhibit corrosion of tanks, devices, and other metal containments such as carbon steel pipes which come into contact with produced waters from the oil recovery operations, while also providing schmoo reduction and removal from the metal containments. The inhibitor cleaners are also useful for addition to other corrosive aqueous fluids to inhibit corrosion of metal containments with which the aqueous fluids come into contact, such as corrosive aqueous discharge from mines and other industrial operations such as paper-making.

    摘要: A method of inhibiting corrosion of duplex stainless steel by aqueous acidic solution, comprises carrying out a preliminary treatment which is passivation of the steel while exposing the steel to a first aqueous acidic solution containing at least one organic corrosion inhibitor able to adsorb to a steel surface, so as to deposit a passivating and corrosion inhibiting film on the steel surface; and thereafter during a second period of time exposing the steel to a second aqueous acidic solution different from the first aqueous acidic solution and also containing at least one organic corrosion inhibitor able to adsorb to a steel. The second aqueous acidic solution maintains the film on the steel surface, such that weight loss through corrosion in the second period of time is lower than the weight loss which would be observed with the same second aqueous acidic solution but without carrying out the preliminary treatment.
