Abstract: Examples described herein provide coordinated ranging between APs in a network. Examples described herein may receive, by a computing device, neighbor adjacency information for a plurality of access points (APs) in a network, and based on the neighbor adjacency information, assign, by the computing device, subsets of the plurality of APs to non-overlapping zones. Examples described herein may initiate, by the computing device for each of the non-overlapping zones, ranging measurements between the subset of APs in the zone to generate a ranging result, wherein the ranging measurements between the subsets of APs in the non-overlapping zones are performed in parallel. Examples described herein may, based on the ranging results, resolve, by the computing device, locations of the plurality of APs.

Abstract: A system for dynamically activating a virtual network is provided. During operation, the system can operate a switch as a tunnel endpoint of a tunnel in conjunction with a remote switch. The tunnel can facilitate a virtual private network (VPN) spanning the switch and the remote switch. The system can maintain an inactive state for a virtual local area network (VLAN) and a corresponding tunnel network identifier identifying the VLAN for the tunnel. If a notification indicating the activation of the VLAN at a downstream switch is received by the switch, the system can activate the VLAN at the switch. The system can then activate the tunnel network identifier in a routing process of the VPN, thereby enabling sharing of a media access control (MAC) address associated with the VLAN via the tunnel.

Abstract: An interconnect module (ICM) having at least two internal data paths is provided. The ICM determines if a connected network interface card (NIC) supports a division of work between the NIC and the ICM. NICs may be standard NICs, advanced NICs (ANICs), or smart NICs (SNICs). The ICM may perform a different amount of processing for network packets received from different devices based on the division of work previously identified. Some NICs may preprocess network packets with respect to switching and routing processing to allow the ICM to bypass that functionality for those packets. Packets received from devices not providing a division of work receive full processing including switching and routing processing. Devices may be grouped to either a switching and routing group or a virtual bypass group such that data received from devices associated with the virtual bypass group may bypass selected processing typically performed by the ICM.

Abstract: In some examples, a system derives a first representation of an assembly of components based on a first source of information, and derives a second representation of the assembly of components based on a second source of information that is of a different type than the first source of information, where the second representation includes any or a combination of an indication of a source of a respective component of the assembly of components, or placement location information of a component in the assembly. The system compares the first representation to the second representation to identify a deviation between the first representation and the second representation, the deviation corresponding to an alteration of the assembly of components.

Abstract: Examples described herein relate to a method for synchronizing a wavelength of light in an optical device. In some examples, a heater voltage may be predicted for a heater disposed adjacent to the optical device in a photonic chip. The predicted heater voltage may be applied to the heater to cause a change in the wavelength of the light inside the optical device. In response to applying the heater voltage, an optical power inside the optical device may be measured. Further, a check may be performed to determine whether the measured optical power is a peak optical power. If it is determined that measured optical power is the peak optical power, the application of the predicted heater voltage to the heater may be continued.
