Abstract: Techniques and apparatuses described herein permit selective multiplexing of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), inside of or outside of an SSB measurement timing configuration (SMTC) window, and downlink channel communications depending on one or more factors, which may increase spectral efficiency due to multiplexing when permitted, and may prevent or reduce collisions and interference when not permitted (e.g., due to quasi co-location constraints, processing constraints, timeline constraints, and/or the like).

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for performing a beam recovery procedure using a second CC are disclosed. A UE may perform a beam recovery procedure using two component carriers (CCs): for example, CC1 may be a beam formed millimeter wave (MMW) carrier having a beam recovery procedure and CC2 may be an assisting carrier such as a sub-6 GHz carrier. In a first example, a UE may trigger beam recovery for CC1 (on CC2), generate a beam measurement report, and transmit the beam report on resources allocated for uplink transmission on CC2. In a second example, a new scheduling request (SR) may be defined on CC1 for CC2 beam recovery. In a third example, RACH resources or procedures on CC2 may be used to perform the beam recovery for CC1.

A relay node may establish a control plane connection between the relay node and a base station, wherein establishing the control plane connection comprises receiving from the base station a first network identifier for the relay node. The relay node may receive, via the control plane connection, a relay configuration from the base station. The relay node may monitor grants associated with a set of one or more user equipment (UEs) based at least in part on the relay configuration, each UE comprising a network identifier that is different from the first network identifier. The relay node may relay communications between the base station and the set of one or more UEs according to the monitoring.

Abstract: In order to improve the selection of search space candidates for a downlink control channel, an apparatus determines a set of decoding candidates of a lower aggregation level for a downlink control channel based on a random selection from a plurality of potential decoding candidates, wherein the plurality of potential decoding candidates are defined from a second set of decoding candidates of a higher aggregation level. The apparatus then attempts to decode the downlink control channel based on determined sets of decoding candidates of different aggregation levels. The downlink control channel may comprise a PDCCH.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support feedback for multicast communications. A user equipment (UE) in a group of UEs may receive multicast information from a base station in a downlink (DL) transmission scheduled by a DL grant. The DL grant may also indicate a set of uplink resources for the group of UEs to use to transmit feedback. The UE may attempt to decode a message containing the multicast information in the DL transmission. If the UE determines the message was successfully decoded, the UE may send no feedback to the base station. If the UE determines the message was not successfully decoded, the UE may transmit a feedback message to the base station to indicate the message was unsuccessfully decoded. The base station may monitor for the feedback message and determine to retransmit the multicast information if the feedback message is received.

One method includes detecting a first reference signal received from a user equipment (UE) in a reference scheduled transmission burst including a plurality of contiguous transmission time intervals (TTIs) received over a shared radio frequency spectrum band; identifying a reference TTI in which the first reference signal is received; determining a contention window size usable by the UE to contend for access to the shared radio frequency spectrum band; and transmitting an indication of the determined contention window size to the UE.
