Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for estimating quality of a link in a broad-band wireless communication system. The method includes: calculating quality indicators of sub-carriers in an input signal of a receiver of the system; clipping the quality indicators of the sub-carriers; and averaging the clipped quality indicators of the sub-carriers to obtain an average value as an estimation result of an effective quality indicator of the link. The present application also discloses an apparatus for estimating quality of a link in a broad-band wireless communication system, an adaption method and apparatus for a link in a broad-band wireless communication system. The methods and apparatus of the present invention can achieve relatively low calculation complexity and high accuracy.
Abstract:
The inventive system includes a host, a network including a security gateway, and a public application. Established are an access session between the network and the host and an application session between the public application and the network. An application session record is created for the application session, and includes the user's public user identity used to access the public application, the user's private user identity used to access the network, a host identity, and an application session time. To determine the private user identity for the application session, the security gateway sends a query with the host identity and the application session time. These are compared with the host identity and access session time in an access session record. If they match, then the private user identity in the access session record is returned, and it is stored as the private user identity in the application session record.
Abstract:
A high efficiency micro projection optical engine includes a light source module, a lens assembly, a micro display panel and a projection lens. An image of the luminous surface of light emitting elements of the light source module is formed in the vicinity of the micro display panel. The micro display panel is arranged on the path of emission light of the lens assembly to modulate incident light and obtain image light with image information. The projection lens is used to project the image information on the micro display panel and form an image onto a screen. The optical engine enhances efficiency by means of critical illumination.
Abstract:
An improved mobile electronic device enables the inputting of text in one alphabet, Traditional Chinese in the present example, by transliteration of inputs in another alphabet, BoPoMoFo in the present example. Since some of the inputs can be ambiguous, transliteration of an ambiguous input is delayed until a detection of a finalization event, thus avoiding the outputting of unnecessary transliteration results, and thus advantageously avoiding a distraction to the user.
Abstract:
A method for identifying and characterizing components of interest in complex samples includes subjecting both a sample and its control samples to chromatography/high resolution mass spectrometry analysis to detect ions of the samples. The method includes defining sections of control sample data within specified chromatographic fluctuation time and mass precision windows around each ion or each group of the same ions of question in the test sample data. The defined sections of the control sample data are examined and the maximal intensities are subtracted from respective ions in the test sample. Components of interest are determined from the resultant data of the test sample. The method can be used for identifying molecular ions and/or their fragment ions for components of interest in complex samples.

The publishing system and method automates at least some portion of a publishing process. The system publishes content using metadata, rights templates and/or specifications, publishing profiles and business rules.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a ticket issuing method, comprising: step a: acquiring the image of a ticket paper for issuing a ticket, recognizing a ticket number from the image acquired and determining the validity of the ticket number recognized, to obtain a valid ticket number; step b: printing on the corresponding ticket paper the ticket issuing information containing the ticket number, when receiving a ticket issuing instruction. The present invention also discloses a ticket issuing device, comprising: an image acquisition unit (35), a printing unit (34) and a controller (31) for sending the image of the ticket paper acquired by the image acquisition unit or the ticket number recognized from the image of the ticket paper to a host computer (40) and controlling the printing unit (34) to print on the ticket paper according to the ticket issuing instruction and the ticket issuing information received. The ticket issuing method and the ticket issuing device omit the trouble of the manual input of the ticket number and improve the accuracy of the input of the ticket number. The ticket issuing method and the ticket issuing device can be applied to blank tickets under various numbering rules according to different policies for recognizing ticket numbers, and the disadvantage that the ticket numbers have to be consecutive numbers during the existing ticket issuing process is overcome.
Abstract:
A gate stack for an NMOS transistor in an IC to induce tensile stress in the NMOS channel is disclosed. The gate stack includes a first layer of undoped polysilicon, a second layer of n-type polysilicon to establish a desired work function in the gate, layer of compressively stressed metal, and a third layer of polysilicon to provide a silicon surface for subsequent formation of metal silicide. Candidates for the compressively stressed metal are TiN, TaN, W, and Mo. In a CMOS IC, the n-type polysilicon layer and metal layer are patterned in NMOS transistor areas, while the first polysilicon layer and third polysilicon layer are patterned in both NMOS and PMOS transistor areas. Polysilicon CMP may be used to reduce topography between the NMOS and PMOS gate stacks to facilitate gate pattern photolithography.

Alginate produced using the media and methods disclosed herein is structurally uniform and substantially free of bacterial cell contaminants, including endotoxin.
Abstract:
An assembly determines an analyte concentration in a sample of body fluid. The assembly includes a test sensor having a fluid-receiving area for receiving a sample of body fluid, where the fluid-receiving area contains a reagent that produces a measurable reaction with an analyte in the sample. The assembly also includes a meter having a port or opening configured to receive the test sensor; a measurement system configured to determine a measurement of the reaction between the reagent and the analyte; and a temperature-measuring system configured to determine a measurement of the test-sensor temperature when the test sensor is received into the opening. The meter determines a concentration of the analyte in the sample according to the measurement of the reaction and the measurement of the test-sensor temperature.
