Abstract:
An approach is provided for providing telephony services via a set-top box. A provider telephony services system executes an authentication procedure to authenticate a set-top box associated with a user account. Subsequently, the set-top box receives a data stream representing a voicemail associated with the user account, wherein the data stream is selectively transcoded in real-time for delivery to the set-top box.
Abstract:
A method for a downloadable personalization content manager to present media content on a communication device of a user includes the downloadable personalization content manager receiving video content and in response to a non-call activating event, the downloadable personalization content manager enabling presentation of said video content to take precedence over the activating of other applications for said non-call activating event.
Abstract:
Subscribers of an enhanced communication system are enabled to indicate invocation or clearing of media specific features such as music-on-hold or video-on-hold. The invocation or clearing is transmitted to participating end points as a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) re-INVITE message with Session Description Protocol (SDP) attribute descriptions identifying the feature, applicable media channels and whether the message is for invocation or clearing of the feature.
Abstract:
A videoconference system includes a head office controller (2) and a plurality of local controllers (3A, 3B) which are connected to a conference server (1) by the Internet and a camera-equipped microphone (4) connected to each of the controllers (2, 3A, 3B). Each of the controllers (2, 3A, 3B) includes an operation panel (17) having an utterance request operation means, a reproduction means for reproducing video/audio, a selection means for selecting the camera-equipped microphone (4) or the local controllers (3A, 3B), and an utterance request indicating means for indicating the local position which has made the utterance request.
Abstract:
Devices of a telecommunication network described herein are configured to reduce a service level associated with a quality of service offered by the telecommunication network to a user. The devices may reduce the service level responsive to data consumption by the user exceeding a threshold or responsive to data consumption associated with an application or data type. Also, the devices may be configured to increase a video-conversation-specific service level responsive to determining that a client device of the user is establishing a video conversation.
Abstract:
Methods for provisioning and initializing visual voicemail services on a mobile device, setting or changing a voicemail greeting for visual voicemail service, changing a password for accessing visual voicemail service, setting or changing a recorded name for a visual voicemail service, managing incoming voicemail messages for a visual voicemail system, managing a telephone user interface (TUI) for a visual voicemail system, managing multiple subscriber identify modules on a mobile device configured for visual voicemail service, and secure connections to a visual voicemail system are described herein. Corresponding systems are also described.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system and method for managing incoming and outgoing communications for various communications methods are disclosed to provide control over inbound communications including definition of if, when, and who may communicate with a recipient, A concealed identification communication may involve no exchange of actual addresses, phone numbers, or other addressing IDs The capability to initiate immediate, delayed, scheduled, or recurring outbound communications is also discussed.
Abstract:
Systems and methods provide a video messaging service for transmitting video messages between network terminals over a network. After a caller's video-messaging terminal receives a notification that a receiver failed to respond to a communication request, the caller's video-messaging terminal may enable the caller to record a video message and store it for viewing on-demand by a receiver's video-messaging terminal. After recording, the caller's video-messaging terminal transmits a stored message notification terminal to a network server which, in turn, transmits a stored message notification, including an identifier of the caller's video-messaging terminal, to the receiver. Based on the identifier, the receiver's video-messaging terminal may request access to the video message from the callers video-messaging terminal. In response to the request, the caller's video-messaging terminal retrieves the video message from storage and provides it to the receiver's video-messaging terminal over the network.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques for transferring electronic data between users of a communications system by receiving, at an instant messaging host, a video file from a sender and intended for a recipient; authenticating the video file; and sending the video file to the intended recipient.
Abstract:
Seamlessly transferring a communication. At least one communication is established between a first device and a second device. The at least one communication is transferred from the second device to a third device without interrupting the at least one communication and without disconnecting the at least one communication from the first device.
