    Abstract: A method for optimizing parameters affecting Paging Optimization is disclosed, comprising: determining a first paging stage timeout value based on at least one of how much congested is the radio network, and whether paging from a same sub from a same location but paging optimization had already moved to a second stage; determining a second paging stage timeout value based on receiving retransmissions from core network for the same sub within this time; and how many times the subscribers respond later after the timer expiry; and applying a function to the paging cache timeout value, the first paging stage timeout value; and the second first paging stage timeout value to obtain a paging optimization value.

    Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for providing software provisioning of functionality in a wireless communications device. Software-enabling functionality may include systems for granting a license to intellectual property or other pre-embedded functionality within a device. Communications to and from the device may be used to send or receive activation messages and/or licensing messages. Network capabilities may be provisioned using activation messages sent over the network. Activation messages may be sent in-band or out-of-band, for a device connected to the Internet and/or a mobile operator core network. Licenses may be required for any functions or intellectual property present on a given device. Activation may enable logical modules of a system-on-chip (SOC), functions of a software-defined radio (SDR), baseband, or DSP core. The disclosed systems and methods could thereby provide a new, flexible paradigm, namely, “Silicon as a Service (SaaS).”

    Abstract: Transceiver integrated circuit (IC) subarrays, each transceiver IC subarray comprising at least a first transceiver IC and a second transceiver IC physically arranged in a subarray: the transceiver ICs configured to process series of commonly-processed aggregated signal-port IQ data packets in accordance with (i) beam-tilt information received in control message packets and (ii) the subarray position of the transceiver ICs, using one or more signal processing techniques to achieve electronic beam tilt selected from the group consisting of: (i) applying an incremental phase rotation to each subcarrier frequency-domain IQ data point (via, e.g., and NCO), (ii) applying a constant phase rotation to each subcarrier frequency-domain IQ data point (e.g., via a complex multiplication), (iii) applying a constant phase rotation to each sample of the baseband time domain signal (e.g., via a complex multiplication), and (iv) imposing time delays in the discrete time domain signals of the transmit baseband signals.
