    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first message indicating a capability of the UE to jointly modulate data with tone reservation signals on an individual subcarrier basis. Accordingly, the UE may receive a second message activating joint modulation of data with tone reservation signals for the UE. In some examples, the UE may also receive control signaling indicating various parameters to use for joint modulation of data with tone reservation signals. The UE may communicate with a base station over multiple subcarriers in accordance with the second message and the control signaling, where one or more of the multiple subcarriers carry data jointly modulated with tone reservation signals on an individual subcarrier basis. The described techniques may enable the UE to perform wireless communications with higher throughput, reduced power consumption, and improved spectral efficiency, among other benefits.

    Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to reducing the signaling overhead for configuring a common reference signal used in performing coarse power control of multiple spatial domain multiplexing (SDM) uplink streams are provided. A base station may be in communication with a UE via multiple SDM streams directed from the same panel of the respective device. The base station may configure a common pathloss reference signal for the SDM streams of the same panel for the UE. This may include sending a list of possible pathloss reference signal configurations to the UE, and then identifying which configuration to use for the pathloss reference signal for the group of SDM streams. Once known, the UE may measure the reference signal for open loop power control. The BS may occasionally reconfigure the common reference signal for the grouped SDM streams.

    Abstract: A user equipment may be configured to perform demodulator selection based on ML model coefficients trained by a base station. In some aspects, the user equipment may transmit a dynamic demodulator indication to a base station, transmit channel information to the base station, and receive, in response to the dynamic demodulator indication, updated coefficient information based on the channel information. Further, the user equipment may select a demodulator based on the updated coefficient information, and communicate with the base station via the demodulator in response to the selection of the demodulator.

The configuration may indicate a quantity of a plurality of random access preambles, a quantity of a plurality of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs), and a quantity of random access preambles per SSB. The received configuration may indicate that each random access preamble of the plurality of random access preambles is available to the UE in the random access occasion for each SSB of a plurality of SSBs transmitted by the base station. The UE may select a random access preamble of the plurality of random access preambles based at least in part on the received configuration and transmit the selected random access preamble to the base station in the random access occasion.

    Abstract: Aspects of disclosure relate to beam steering at a multi-antenna device. The device receives an activation signal to activate one or more input ports of a Butler matrix and outputs signals from all output ports of the Butler matrix based on activation of the one or more input ports. The signals output from the output ports have varying phase shifts relative to each other. Moreover, the device phase shifts the signals output from the output ports via a plurality of phase shifters respectively coupled to the output ports. The phase shifted signals have further varying phase shifts relative to each other and a phase difference between adjacent phase shifted signals. Each one of a plurality of antenna elements at the device receives a phase shifted signal from an associated phase shifter and outputs a beam based on the phase shifted signal received from the associated phase shifter.
