Abstract: The invention relates to a pivoting sliding door for vehicles, comprising a door wing (3), drive devices (2), transversal guiding devices (4, 5), and longitudinal guiding devices (7), which enable the at least one door wing (3) to move transversal to the vehicle wall and along the vehicle wall. The longitudinal guiding devices move in a transverse direction by means of the transversal guiding devices. When closed, the door is locked by a pivot part (10), which engages inside a guide (12) whereby preventing the door from being unintentionally opened. The invention is characterized in that the pivot part (10) has a guide part (11) that interacts with a guide (12) and that the guide, in the area in which the pivot part (10) interacts with the guide when the door is closed, has a circular arc section (12b) around the actual position of the rotation axis (9) of the pivot part (10).

Abstract: A lifting apparatus for lifting and lowering a component of an automobile body that is hingedly and releasably attached to the automobile body at first and second attachment points. The lifting apparatus includes an extension member having first and second ends that is operable to move from a normally retracted position to an extended position. The first end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the component at a third attachment point and the second end of the extension member is pivotally attached to the automobile body. An actuator is operable to extend and retract the extension member. When a one of the first and second attachment points is released, the extension member moves from the retracted position to the extended position and moves the component to an open position about the other of the first and second attachment points.

The inventive arrangement also includes determining a desired torque at which to operate the motor (42) during a position initialization procedure.

Abstract: A power-operated system for actuating the rear doors or liftgates of motor vehicles includes a strut assembly having two struts, each strut mounted on one side of the door between the door and the vehicle's door frame. One end of each strut is connected to a powered rotating arm. To open the door, the rotating arms change the angular orientation of the struts such that they have a substantial mechanical advantage. In this position, the force provided by the struts overcomes the weight bias of the door, thus opening the door. To close the door, the rotating arms change the angular orientation of the struts such that the struts have a decreased mechanical advantage, reducing the force provided by the struts, and therefore causing the door to fall closed under its own weight bias. A control system for controlling the power-operated system is also disclosed.

Abstract: An operator for controlling the movement of a window sash generally pivotable relative to a frame about a first edge between open and closed positions includes a first arm having a first end slidably attachable to a second edge of the window sash opposite the sash first edge. Abstract: A powered operator for sliding plug doors mounted on a movable carriage mounted overhead of an opening in the side wall of a transit vehicle, said doors including a single electric prime mover driving dual helical drives, each operating a door hanger attached to a single door panel over and away from said opening and for moving said carriage out of said side wall pocket. Door hangers used provide controlled deflection of door panels when in a fully open position. Drive linkages lock door panels when in a plugged position. The operator also provides guidance for the lower edge of said door panels during plugging and unplugging operations.
