Abstract: A hood latch mechanism for the hood of a vehicle that includes: a base plate; a rivet extending through the base plate; a hood latch receiving the rivet such that the rivet extends therethrough; a washer receiving the rivet such that the rivet extends therethrough; and a biasing member receiving the rivet such that the rivet extends therethrough. The hood latch is repositionable between a first position, in which the hood latch engages the hood to inhibit opening thereof, and a second position, in which the hood latch is disengaged from the hood to allow opening thereof, wherein the biasing member biases the hood latch towards the first position. The washer is fixedly connected to the hood latch so as to inhibit relative movement therebetween, and is positioned between the base plate and the hood latch to reduce friction therebetween and support movement of the hood latch.

Abstract: A mean of real-time accelerator pedal output of a vehicle that quantifies an extent to which an accelerator pedal has been pressed by a driver of the vehicle over a defined period of time is determined. Target mean accelerator pedal output for the vehicle is determined. Torque of the vehicle is changed. The torque is reduced when the mean of the real-time accelerator pedal output is lower than the target mean accelerator pedal output, and the torque is increased when the mean of the real-time accelerator pedal output is higher than the target mean accelerator pedal output.

Abstract: A server accesses vehicle data from each connected vehicle (CV) of a subset of a plurality of CVs on a roadway portion, the vehicle data comprising at least one of: a position, a velocity, or a headway. The server generates, based on the accessed vehicle data, a long-term shared world model. The server generates, using the long-term shared world model, a data structure representing predicted future velocities on the roadway portion by position and time by applying a traffic flow model to the long-term shared world model. The server transmits, to a connected autonomous vehicle (CAV), a control signal for controlling operation of the CAV based on the generated data structure.

Abstract: A rear door assembly includes a rear opening and a roof structure having a recessed area. A carrier is movable along a portion of the recessed area between a rearward location to a forward location. A motor is attached to the carrier and the vehicle. The motor is operable to move the carrier relative to the roof structure and the rear opening between the rearward location and the forward location. A rear door has a hinge pivotally supported to the carrier for movement therewith. The rear door is movable between a door closed orientation covering the rear opening, an intermediate orientation partially exposing the rear opening and a door open orientation exposing the rear opening. A linear movement device has a first end attached to the carrier for movement therewith and a second end attached to the rear door at a location spaced apart from the hinge.
