    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method of wireless communication includes determining, at a wireless device, a subset of antenna elements of a plurality of antenna elements to be used to communicate with a network entity in a second communication direction. The plurality of antenna elements is used to communicate with the network entity in a first communication direction. The method further includes transmitting, from the wireless device to the network entity, a message indicating that the subset of antenna elements is to be used to communicate in the second communication direction. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

In certain aspects an extended transmission profile may be determined to support V2X communications via 5G NR RATs between two or more wireless devices. For example, one or more processing units of a wireless device may determine that a NR RAT is requested for a V2X communication based, at least in part, on service information associated with data to be transmitted, determine an extended Tx Profile for the V2X communication, and initiate transmission of at least a portion of the data via the NR RAT using the transceiver based on the extended Tx Profile.

    Abstract: A relay node supporting mobile terminal (MT) functionality and distributed unit (DU) functionality may receive a timing advance (TA) value for uplink synchronization associated with a timing alignment timer from a parent node. In some cases, the timing alignment timer may expire prior to the relay node receiving a next TA value. Upon expiration of the timing alignment timer, the relay node may initiate a second timer (e.g., a transition timer) associated with the transitioning of a DU entity of the relay node to a DU transition state. The DU transition state is associated with certain DU behavior for serving child nodes while the transition timer is active. Configuration of the DU transition state may be identified by the relay node, or received from a parent node. In cases where the transition timer expires prior to receiving a next TA value, the DU may declare a loss of uplink synchronization.
