Abstract: Methods and apparatus for network setup in wide channel WLANs are provided. Techniques for co-existence of 20 MHz and 40 MHz networks (e.g., as defined by IEEE 802.11n) may be extended to 80 MHz and 160 MHz networks. For example, a primary channel of an existing network may be designated as the primary channel of a new network. Further, a primary channel of the existing network may not be used as a secondary channel in the new network. Intolerance operation between networks may include a first network releasing one or more channels in response to an intolerance indication received from a second network. Furthermore, in response to the intolerance indication from the second network, the first network may utilize one or more channels for communicating in the first network using a first set of access parameters. The access parameters may depend on the intolerance indication.

Abstract: The disclosure provides methods and apparatuses for multiple user uplink. One aspect of the disclosure provides a method for wireless communication. The method comprises receiving a trigger frame from an access point indicating a target transmission duration for transmission of a physical layer (PHY) service data unit (PSDU) to the access point. The method also comprises generating an aggregated medium access control (MAC) packet data unit (A-MPDU) frame comprising at least one A-MPDU subframe, the A-MPDU frame having a first length, determining whether an additional A-MPDU subframe having a second length may be added to the A-MPDU frame based at least in part on the first length, the second length, and the target transmission duration, and including one or more padding subframes in the A-MPDU frame based at least in part on a comparison between the first length and the target transmission duration.

Abstract: A wireless first device may receive a packet from another device from an overlapping basic service set (OBSS). A received power of the packet may be greater than a threshold for transmitting during the time of the packet. If the first device reduces its transmit power, the first device may increase the threshold. If the received power is less than the increased threshold, the first device may count down a backoff count during a transmission time or transmission opportunity of the packet. In some cases, after the transmission time or transmission opportunity, the first device may increase its transmission power. In some cases, the condition for counting down a backoff count may also include initiating or finishing the transmission during the transmission time or the transmission opportunity of the packet, or transmitting at the reduced power.

Abstract: A method for configuring channel access parameters in a wireless communication system includes selecting an element identification (ID) from a plurality of element IDs. Each of the plurality of element IDs identifies an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameter set element comprising at least one channel access parameter for at least one subset of wireless devices in a group of wireless devices. The selected element ID is identifiable by wireless devices of the group of wireless devices and not identifiable by other wireless devices. The method further includes generating the EDCA parameter set element for setting the at least one channel access parameter for each wireless device in the at least one subset. The EDCA parameter set element includes the selected element ID. The method further includes transmitting the EDCA parameter set element to at least one wireless device in the at least one subset of wireless devices.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for saving power in wireless communications. One aspect includes providing an indication of a sleep duration for transmission to a wireless node, communicating with the wireless node during a target wakeup time (TWT), wherein the communication comprises at least one of providing data for transmission to the wireless node or obtaining data received from the wireless node, and refraining from providing data for transmission to the wireless node for at least the indicated sleep duration based at least in part on timing of the communication. Another aspect includes receiving an indication of a sleep duration from a wireless node, communicating with the wireless node during a time slot of a TWT, and entering a sleep mode for the indicated sleep duration based at least in part on timing of the communication with the wireless node during the time slot of the TWT.
