    Abstract: A method of fabricating a laminated metal container wall provided with an opening device including providing a metal sheet having a layer of protective material secured thereto by means of an adhesive selected from the group consisting of epoxy, polyester and polyurethane. The protective material is selected from a group consisting of a copolymer of a polyolefin and ethylene and ionomers of polyolefin. A preferred form of copolymer has polypropylene as the polyolefin employed with the ethylene. A preferred polypropylene ethylene copolymer may have an ethylene content of about 2 to 10 percent. The laminated metal sheet is scored to define a removable sector therein. The scoring is preferably effected to such a depth as to provide residual metal along the score line of about 2 to 6 mils. Simultaneously with the scoring operation, reducing the thickness of the layer of protective material without penetrating entirely through the layer. The protective layer may have an initial thickness of about 1.5 to 4 mils and preferably about 2.5 to 3.5 mils. A laminated metal container wall having a score line defined removable sector. An adhesive material secured to one surface of the container wall. A continuous layer of protective material secured to the metal panel portion by means of the adhesive. The protective layer may have a thickness of about 1.5 to 4 mils and is selected from a group consisting of a copolymer and a polyolefin and ethylene and ionomers of polyolefins.

    Abstract: A floor assembly is provided which is formed from a plurality of downwardly-open channel members arranged in parallel spaced relation and interconnected by means of pairs of adjacent connecting straps which are moved into position from opposite directions transverse to the longitudinal axes of the channels whereby attachment ears on the straps engage over edge flanges on the channel members.     Abstract: An electrical conductor-dielectric laminate having an elongated electrically conductive strip and a dielectric web adhesively secured to the conductive strip.     Abstract: A portable tool for fastening together superposed metal members. The tool has two movable frame portions which are operable to firmly clamp the metal members together. With the metal members firmly clamped, a punch element, movable within one of the frames, is moved to punch integral tabs in the members through die openings provided in the other frame. As the punch is withdrawn the tabs are bent by a bender element movable within the other frame, the bending being sufficient to firmly lock the members together without a complete bending of the tabs back against the surface of the superposed members.

    Abstract: An end plug for a hollow ball bat. The end plug has a substantially rigid inner plug member and a resiliently compressible outer plug member secured to the inner member. The outer plug member has a periphery provided with a generally cylindrical lower portion and an upper portion separated from the lower portion by an outwardly open annular recess. The inner plug member has a generally radially outwardly directed stabilizer portion which extends radially outwardly at least to a position adjacent to the periphery of the outer plug member. The outwardly directed stabilizer portion of the inner plug member may be divided into a plurality of individual stabilizer segments and may be provided with underlying reinforcing members. A hollow ball bat having a generally cylindrical barrel portion and a generally cylindrical handle portion. At least one of the barrel and handle portions terminating in an open end provided with a transversely inwardly directed flange which is engaged within the annular recess of the end plug to provide an effective mechanical joint between the bat and the end plug. The composite end plug serves to provide both sound and vibration deadening means and integral structural reinforcing means resisting relative axial movement between the end plug and the ball bat.
