A method for controlling appliances includes a wearing step, a swinging step and a controlling step. The control device is attached to a movable part of a user's body and the user swings the movable part to generate and send a control signal to the appliance so as to activate and control the appliance. The method is also helpful for rehabilitation to disable people.

A polysaccharide-protein binding model of SBD, and a fibril-forming 14-residue peptide consisting of X1NNNX2X3NYQX4X5X6X7X8, wherein the X1 and X8 mean a pair of opposite charged amino acid residues, and the X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, or X7 means an amino acid residue is described. A mixture for diminising a polysaccharide, comprising at least two starch binding domains (SBDs) and a polysaccharide in a helix form is also presented. A method of providing an oligosaccharide, and a method of producing an amyloid-like fibril and use thereof are further described.

A memory device includes a substrate and source and drain regions formed in the substrate. The source and drain regions include both phosphorous and arsenic and the phosphorous may be implanted prior to the arsenic. The memory device also includes a first dielectric layer formed over the substrate and a charge storage element formed over the first dielectric layer. The memory device may further include a second dielectric layer formed over the charge storage element and a control gate formed over the second dielectric layer.

A touch panel including a substrate, a plurality of first sensing series, and a plurality of second sensing series is provided. The first sensing series and the second sensing series are disposed on the substrate. The first sensing series extend along a first direction and are electrically insulated from each other. Each of the first sensing series includes a plurality of first sensing pads and a plurality of first bridge portions connected between the first sensing pads. The second sensing series extend along a second direction and are electrically insulated from each other. Each of the second sensing series includes a plurality of second sensing pads and a plurality of second bridge portions connected between the second sensing pads. Each of the first bridge portions and one of the second bridge portions are intersected, and at least one of the second bridge portions has at least one electrostatic discharge tip.

The subject disclosure pertains to systems and methods for providing a user interface for mobile devices. The user interface can include a search function that utilizes user input to search multiple software applications and data sources. Content can be retrieved and presented to a user without requiring the user to navigate to the underlying application or sources supplying the content. The applications or content sources can be local to the mobile device or remotely located, such as an Internet site. One or more types of data can be retrieved and presented to a user based upon the user input. Search results can be displayed and dynamically updated as additional user input is obtained.

A device and method for dropping an air interface is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises communicating over a first air interface and a second air interface, determining an operational parameter based at least in part on a characteristic of the first air interface, and dropping the second air interface based at least in part on the operational parameter. A device and method for adding an air interface is also disclosed. In one embodiment, the system comprises a processor configured to drop one of a plurality of concurrently established air interfaces and to subsequently determine that at least one predetermined criteria is met before attempting to add the air interface.

The light guide plate has a first side surface and a second side surface opposite the first side surface. The first lighting element is disposed on the first side surface and has at least three light emitting diodes of different colors. The second lighting element is disposed on the second side surface and has at least three light emitting diodes of different colors. The arrangement of the light emitting diodes of the first lighting element is different from the arrangement of the light emitting diodes of the second lighting element.

The present invention relates to a tri-state delay-typed phase lock loop, which comprises: a phase and frequency detector, a mode detector, a mode selector, a first sampling delay unit, a plurality of counters, a second sampling delay unit, and a phase and frequency calculator. The phase and frequency of the input reference signal can be determined automatically by the phase lock loop, and the output synchronization signal can be generated such that the frequency and the phase of the output synchronization signal are identical to those of the input reference signal.

An image-projection system includes a light source, a light guide, and an image-projection module. The light source is configured to provide planar illumination. The light guide has a first end and a second end, with the first end being coupled with the light source to receive the planar illumination and the second end being configured to provide a transmitted planar illumination. The light guide may have an internal structure providing a reflective surface for reflecting the planar illumination received from the first end. The image-projection module may be coupled with the second end of the light guide and configured to receive an image signal input and project, in response to the image signal, an image via the transmitted planar illumination.

A device for controlling a single-phase power conditioner for a renewable energy system is disclosed. The device comprises: a power system, providing alternating current (AC) utility power; a renewable energy system, using a natural resource so as to generate direct current (DC) power; a DC-to-DC converter, accepting the DC power generated by the renewable energy system so as to convert an input DC voltage of the DC power to an output DC voltage at a voltage level different from the DC input voltage; a grid-tied power conditioner, transforming voltage levels of the AC power and DC power; a controller, issuing a control signal for controlling the grid-tied power conditioner; and a load, consuming electricity by way of the grid-tied power conditioner.
