    Abstract: A method for assembling a mirror reflective element sub-assembly for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes assembling an indicator module by heat staking a printed circuit board at a receiving part of a housing to form a housing and printed circuit board assembly and dispensing potting material at the printed circuit board to seal the printed circuit board at the housing and aligning and taping a diffuser at the housing. A back plate is provided that has an indicator attaching portion for attaching the indicator module. The back plate is placed at a support fixture and a mirror reflective element is attached at the back plate. The indicator module is attached at the indicator attaching portion of the back plate. Light emitted by the indicator module, when electrically powered to emit light, passes through the mirror reflective element at an aperture of the back plate.

    Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly having a mirror head adjustable relative to a mounting base. The mirror head includes a variable reflectance electro-optic mirror reflective element. A glare light sensor is disposed at the mirror head and captures sensor data representative of visible light and near infrared light passing through the variable reflectance electro-optic mirror reflective element. The vehicular interior rearview mirror system determines a near infrared light component of the captured sensor data. Based on processing of the captured sensor data, the system controls dimming of the variable reflectance electro-optic mirror reflective element. The system does not rely on the determined near infrared light component of the captured sensor data when controlling dimming of the variable reflectance electro-optic mirror reflective element.

    Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head having a mirror reflective element, a support structure configured for attachment at a side of a vehicle, and an adjustment mechanism operable to move the mirror head relative to the support structure between a retracted position and an extended position. A shutoff module includes a body and a plunger movably disposed at the body. The body is attached at one of the mirror head or the support structure and an outer end of the plunger is attached at the other of the mirror head or the body. As the mirror head moves relative to the support structure, an inner end of the plunger moves relative to and along a circuit element of the body. The adjustment mechanism is deactivated responsive to the inner end of the plunger reaching either end of the circuit element.
