    摘要: An analog calculating circuit capable of storing data.A calculating circuit according to the present invention converts an analog voltage level to a time value by using a charging voltage of an RC circuit and stores the time value as a number of clock cycles in a digital counter. The circuit then converts another voltage level to a second time value and either adds the second time value to or subtracts it from the first time value. This yields a time value corresponding to a multiplication or division, respectively, of the analog voltage levels.

    摘要: A new and unique multiplication circuit solves the problems associated with digital multiplication circuits which operate on digital operands only. The multiplication circuit according to the present invention uses negative feedback in conjunction with an operational amplifier to maintain the output voltage of the operational amplifier at a level which depends on the logic level of the digital input datum applied to the gate of a field-effect transistor in the negative feedback loop. This unique multiplication circuit is capable of directly multiplying digital data with analog data.

    摘要: A method for verifying that a sample image of a fingerprint is that of a designated person through comparison of sample data, generated from the sample image, with master data, generated from a master image of the designated person's fingerprint. The master and sample image have been divided into a plurality of blocks, and each block has been divided into a plurality of block areas. Each block area has a number of pixels each having an associated direction as the sample and master data. The direction associated with each pixel was determined based on pixel density partial differentials between the pixel and adjacent pixels for a plurality of directions. The direction of the minimum pixel density partial differential for a pixel is chosen as the direction for that pixel. Based on the sample and master data fingerprint verification is determined by at least one of total dispersion, cross-correlation, and distance between classes.
