The MAC in-order delivery either for non-ARQ connections or ARQ connections may be performed by using HARQ packet ordering information. Alternatively, the MAC in-order delivery may be performed using a sequence number (SN) field at the MAC PDU level or using an SN field at the MAC SDU level. For a connection that has MAC in-order delivery disabled, the MAC PDU may not include an SN field, and an SN field may be included in a MAC extended header or a MAC sub-header when needed.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for reporting feedback information for multi-carrier operation are disclosed. For more effective support for the asymmetric traffic loads in the downlink, a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured with multiple carriers with an unpaired downlink carrier(s). The unpaired downlink carrier is an active downlink carrier that does not have a corresponding active uplink carrier. The WTRU reports feedback information for multi-carrier operation including feedback for the unpaired downlink carrier. For transmission of the feedback information for the unpaired downlink carrier, a feedback channel may be allocated on a distinct non-overlapping resource region on the uplink carrier so that the network may determine which downlink carrier the received feedback information is for based on the resource region. Alternatively, a different feedback channel may be allocated for the unpaired downlink carrier. Alternatively, the feedback information may be transmitted via medium access control (MAC) encoded feedback.

    摘要: A user equipment (UE) includes circuitry configured to receive control information on a downlink control channel from a base station. The control information indicates an allocation of an uplink channel and the control information is sent in response to the base station determining that the UE is to send an adaptive modulation and coding report. The circuitry is further configured in response to the control information to transmit a communication in the allocated uplink channel in a time interval including at least one time slot. The communication includes an adaptive modulation and coding report, and a transmission power level of the communication is derived from the control information and a pathloss measured by the UE.

A group user equipment (UE), e.g., a UE that is a member of a group of UEs, may be in an inactive mode. The group UE may receive a multicast message indicating that the group UE may enter an active mode. For example, the group UE may use the active mode for periodic reporting of its monitoring activity to the network. The multicast message may indicate a mechanism for the group UE to use to send an uplink transmission to the network. The group UE may send the uplink transmission to the network at a transmission time indicated by the mechanism. The transmission time may be desynchronized from other UEs in the group.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for wireless communication of multimedia broadcast multicast services (MBMS) data and unicast data using separate downlink carriers and are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) having a single receiver that is switchable to receive either carrier is provided. A network station, such as a Node-B, preferably encodes K MBMS data packets to N MBMS encoded packets using erasure correction coding where N is preferably significantly greater than (K+ν) which is a determined number of MBMS encoded packets sufficient to recover the K MBMS data packets. The Node-B preferably generates a superframe for carrying the N MBMS encoded packets for each MBMS and transmits the superframe via an MBMS carrier. The Node-B preferably schedules a unicast transmission such that the WTRU is provided with sufficient time to switch to the MBMS carrier to receive at least (K+ν) MBMS encoded packets per superframe.
