Abstract: A method includes receiving a first confidence level from a first battery sensor coupled to a first battery electrically coupled to an engine; receiving a second confidence level from a second battery sensor coupled to a second battery electrically coupled to the engine; storing the first confidence level and the second confidence level prior to the engine being powered off; receiving an updated first confidence level and an updated second confidence level after the engine is powered on; comparing (i) the first confidence level to the updated first confidence level for the first battery sensor and (ii) the second confidence level to the updated second confidence level for the second battery sensor; and enabling a stop-start functionality of the engine in response to the first confidence level and the second confidence level decreasing after the engine system is powered on relative to when the engine system was powered off.

Abstract: A system for a non-hybrid/non-electric vehicle includes a high voltage electromagnetic device and a power electronics system. The high voltage electromagnetic device is structured to couple to an engine and generate AC electrical power from the engine. The power electronics system is electrically coupled to the high voltage electromagnetic device. The power electronics system includes an AC -to-DC inverter and a junction box. The AC- to-DC inverter is structured to receive and change the AC electrical power to regulated DC electrical power. The junction box is structured to receive and provide the regulated DC electrical power to a plurality of electrical paths that electrically couple the junction box to a plurality of electrically-powered accessories. The regulated DC electrical power is provided to each of the plurality of electrically-powered accessories based on an electric power consumption need of each respective electrically-powered accessory.

Abstract: A device includes at least one of a brake position sensor operationally coupled to a brake and providing a brake position signal, or a clutch position sensor operationally coupled to a clutch and providing a clutch position signal. The device further includes a controller having a communication module structured to interpret the at least one of the brake position signal or the clutch position signal, and a collection module structured to collect vehicle dynamics information. The controller further includes a vehicle dynamics module structured to interpret the vehicle dynamics information, and a sensor diagnostics module structured to determine a failure of at least one of the clutch position sensor or the brake position sensor in response to the vehicle dynamics information and at least one of the clutch signal or the brake signal.
