摘要: A method for retrieving information encoded in a structured illumination pattern including selecting an encoded structured illumination pattern having a variable intensity; providing an object with a surface having a 3D relief pattern; selecting at least one portion but not all of the object's surface including the 3D surface relief pattern; projecting the selected structured illumination pattern onto the selected portion of the surface; using a digital camera to capture an image of the reflected structured light pattern from the selected portion of the surface; storing the image in a memory; and processing the image of the detected reflected structured light pattern using a processor responsive to the detected reflected structured light pattern and the selected structured light pattern to retrieve the encoded information, wherein the encoded information is based on the geometrical and material properties of the 3D surface relief pattern and is distinct from the object, surface, or relief pattern.

摘要: A head-mounted display apparatus includes a head-mounted display, the head-mounted display including a plurality of independently controllable switchable viewing areas that can each be independently switched between a transparent state and an information state. The transparent state enables a user of the head-mounted display to see the scene outside the head-mounted display through the independently controllable switchable viewing areas. The information state is opaque and displays information in the independently controllable switchable viewing areas visible to a user of the head-mounted display. Circuitry produces a control signal for controlling the states of the independently controllable switchable viewing areas and a controller responsive to the control signal independently switches each of the independently controllable viewing areas between the transparent state and the information state.

摘要: A system comprising an image display; a digital camera positioned to capture images of persons viewing the image display; and a memory system storing instructions configured to cause a data processing system to implement a method for presenting digital images having a high interest level to a particular person selected from a set of candidate digital images. The method includes using the digital camera to capture an image including a particular person positioned to view the image display. The candidate digital images are analyzed to designate one or more image elements, and familiarity levels of the designated image elements to the particular person are determined. For each candidate digital image, an associated interest level to the particular person is determined responsive to the determined familiarity levels. One or more of the candidate digital images are selected based on the determined interest levels and are presented to the particular person.

摘要: A thin film environmental barrier encapsulation process includes providing an electronic device on a substrate, a first reactant gaseous material, a second reactant gaseous material, an inert gaseous material; and a delivery head through which the reactant gaseous materials and the inert gaseous material are simultaneously directed toward the electronic device and the substrate. One or more of the reactant gaseous materials and the inert gaseous material flows through the delivery head. The flow of the one or more of the reactant gaseous materials and the inert gaseous material generates a pressure to create a gas fluid bearing that maintains a substantially uniform distance between the delivery head and the substrate. Relative motion between the delivery head and the substrate causes the second reactant gaseous material to react with at least a portion of the electronic device and the substrate that has been treated with the first reactant gaseous material.

摘要: A method of identifying a motion-sickness problem in a motion-image sequence includes using a processor to analyze the image-sequence information to identify a propensity that the image sequence can induce motion sickness in a user and forming a saliency map calculated from salient static and dynamic visual features in the image-sequence information. The method further includes identifying moving and static objects and parameters in the saliency map describing the characteristics of the moving and static objects and distribution of salient features that can induce motion sickness in the identified image-sequence information, determining the propensity of the identified moving and static objects and parameters in the saliency map that can induce motion sickness, and producing a signal based upon the determined propensity to identify a motion-sickness problem in the image sequence.
