The method identifies links in the structured documents on the source computer and linkable elements in the structured documents on the target computer. Each link on the source computer points to a linkable element on the target computer. The method transmits the links from the source computer to the target computer and associates each link with one of the linkable elements. The method determines changes to the links in the structured documents on the source computer based on changes to the structured documents on the target computer. The method transmits the link changes to the source computer which updates the links based on the link changes.

    摘要: A web based sign-off process that allows a customer and an installation technician to electronically sign-off on a broadband installation for the purpose of recording that service is operating correctly thereby enabling the service providers to start billing for the broadband service. The sign-off takes place once the broadband installation is complete by navigating to a web site containing a sign-off form. Once the form is filled out by the customer and the technician, it is returned over a network to a service provider. The service provider modifies the customer's billing entry so that billing can commence at a broadband access rate.

    摘要: Organic-inorganic composites were prepared as colloidal particles of a cross-linked, thermally responsive polymer. Hybrid PNIPAM-polysiloxane particles and composite polymeric particles with embedded nanoparticles of an inorganic metal-oxide (MOx) such as CeO2 and TiO2 were formed. To promote the incorporation of unaggregated nanoparticles, temperature responsive microspherical gels (microgels) of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) with interpenetrating (IP) linear chains of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) were used. The organic-inorganic composition of the hybrid polymer network was controlled by changing the time for condensation and hydrolysis of the siloxane monomer during synthesis. Experimental results indicated that the planarization of silicon oxide wafers using these hybrid particles and composites exhibited lower topographical variations and surface roughness as compared to slurries consisting of only silica or ceria nanoparticles while achieving similar removal rates and better or similar frictional characteristics.

    摘要: Channel assignment for wireless access networks is directed toward improved overall communication capability of the networks. A network is formed of wireless access points (APs) coupled via wired (and/or wireless) links and enabled to communicate with clients via radio channels of each of the APs. Local information is collected at each of the APs and processed to determine channel assignments according to a Neighbor Impact Metric (NIM) that accounts for one-hop and two-hop neighbors as well as neighbors not part of the network. Optionally, the NIM accounts for traffic load on the APs. The channel assignments are determined either on a centralized resource (such as a server or one of the APs) or via a distributed scheme across the APs. The local information includes how busy a channel is and local operating conditions such as error rate and interference levels.

    摘要: A method for establishing a hybrid voice session between a mobile device and a VoIP device is disclosed. A caller using a mobile device in a mobile network initiates a request for a voice session by clicking on a virtual identifier, e.g. an email address, provided for the callee in an address book on the caller's mobile device. If the callee is online, then the request is enabled. In one embodiment, the request is enabled by creating a call registration record using a mobile data network. In another embodiment, the request is enabled by having the caller interact with an IVR system. In yet another embodiment, a caller can interact with the IVR system from any type of telephone device. The callee is notified regarding the voice session, and if accepted, the hybrid voice session is established via a voice channel and a VoIP channel.
