    摘要: A method of displaying an image in an electrophoretic display device includes charging each of the sets of differently colored particles to have a different charge through application of an electric field to the display fluid or the device, and then applying an electric field to selected ones of the multiplicity of reservoirs to effect movement of one or more of the differently colored sets of particles in the display fluid therein to display a desired color derived from among the sets of differently colored particles. The colors are shown by way of the particle set or sets moved to be closet to the viewing side conductive substrate of the device. The device may include at least one display layer, including a multiplicity of individual reservoirs containing a display fluid, between conductive substrates, at least one of which is transparent and thus may be a viewing side substrate, wherein the display fluid includes at least two sets of particles in a liquid medium, the at least two sets of particles exhibiting a different color.

    摘要: Phase change ink compositions comprising (a) an ink carrier comprising a monoamide and a tetra-amide, and (b) pigment particles having oxygen-containing functional groups on the surfaces thereof. Also, processes for preparing a phase change ink which comprise (a) melting a tetra-amide which is solid at about 25° C.; (b) admixing with the molten tetra-amide pigment particles having oxygen-containing functional groups on the surfaces thereof; (c) maintaining the mixture of pigment and tetra-amide at a temperature of at least about 100° C. and at a temperature of no more than about 200° C. for a period sufficient to enable the molten tetra-amide to wet the pigment particle surfaces; (d) subsequent to wetting of the pigment particle surfaces with the molten tetra-amide, adding to the mixture a monoamide; (e) subsequent to addition of the monoamide, subjecting the resulting mixture to high shear mixing; and (f) subsequent to subjecting the mixture to high shear mixing, optionally adding to the mixture additional ink ingredients.

    摘要: Organic thin film transistors with improved mobility are disclosed. The transistor contains two interfacial layers between the dielectric layer and the semiconducting layer. One interfacial layer is formed from a siloxane polymer or silsesquioxane polymer. The other interfacial layer is formed from an alkyl-containing silane of Formula (1): where R′ is alkyl having from about 1 to about 24 carbon atoms; R″ is alkyl having from about 1 to about 24 carbon atoms, halogen, alkoxy, hydroxyl, or amino; L is halogen, oxygen, alkoxy, hydroxyl, or amino; k is 1 or 2; and m is 1 or 2.
