摘要: Systems and methods of placeshifting media playback between two or more devices are provided. For example, a method for placeshifting media may include downloading onto a first device an index of files accessed or modified on a second device via a data storage server, at least one of the files being a media file played on the second device. The first device may display a user selectable list of the files on the first device before issuing a request for the media file to the data storage server. The data storage server may send the media file to the first device from the data storage server, and the first device may play back the media file where the second device left off.

Specifically, for example, a method of conducting a wireless transaction is provided that includes initiating a wireless transaction using a short range wireless communication system of a portable electronic device. The method also includes obtaining security information via at least one secondary system of the portable electronic device and utilizing the security information obtained via the at least one secondary system to authenticate the portable electronic device for the wireless transaction.

摘要: Various techniques are provided for carrying out peer-to-peer financial transactions using one or more electronic devices. In one embodiment, a request for payment is transmitted from a first device to a second device using a near field communication (NFC) interface. In response to the request, the second device may transmit payment information to the first device. The first device may select a crediting account and, using a suitable communication protocol, may communicate the received payment information and selected crediting account to one or more external financial servers configured to process and determine whether the payment may be authorized. If the payment is authorized, a payment may be credited to the selected crediting account. In a further embodiment, a device may include a camera configured to obtain an image of a payment instrument. The device may further include an application to extract payment information from the acquired image.

In one embodiment, the method includes varying a graphical element displayed on a handheld device in response to sensed motion to identify an input value. The motion-based input may be used to perform a function on the handheld device or on an external device. For example, the input may be used to open a lock or to rotate a displayed image. Various additional methods, devices, and systems employing motion-based inputs are also provided.

摘要: Various techniques are provided for carrying out peer-to-peer financial transactions using one or more electronic devices. 摘要: A dome switch that may prevent liquid from coming into contact with circuit elements of the switch is disclosed. A deformable dome may include a conductive inner surface region and may be placed over a conductive contact pad such that the dome may deform and the conductive elements may contact each other. At least one sheath may be positioned between the conductive region of the dome and the contact pad positioned below the dome for preventing liquid external to the one or more sheaths from contacting the conductive portions of the switch. In some embodiments, a first sheath may be coupled to the inner surface of the dome about the conductive inner surface region and a second sheath may be coupled to a mounting surface about the conductive contact pad, such that when a user deforms the dome, one of the sheaths may extend into the other sheath.

摘要: This is directed to providing offline purchasing of media items using an electronic device. One or more media items that are not part of a user's media library can be stored on an electronic device. When a user later wishes to play back one of the media items, but the device cannot connect to a communications network to provide payment information for purchasing the media items, the electronic device can use pre-paid credits that were purchased and stored by the device when a communications network was available to complete the purchase. By using pre-paid credits, the media store can be assured that the user has sufficient funds for the media item purchase.

摘要: There are provided systems and methods for conducting secure wireless financial transactions using portable electronic devices. For example, a method of conducting a wireless transaction is provided that includes taking a picture of a first QR code displayed on a transaction terminal using a camera of a portable electronic device. The method also includes sending data from the portable electronic device to the transaction terminal to conduct the financial transaction with the transaction terminal using a near field communication channel or another wireless communication channel, or both. This data is derived from the first QR code to enable the transaction terminal to verify that the portable electronic device is physically located near the transaction terminal.
