Abstract: A drive assist controller verifies the driving intention of a driver on the basis of whether or not the driver is contacting the steering wheel when a lane-maintaining control is being executed. An automatic driving controller verifies the driving intention of the driver on the basis of whether or not the driver is gripping the steering wheel when automatic driving is being performed. This configuration makes it possible to appropriately determine the driving intention of a driver, by changing the method of verifying the driving intention of the driver between cases when the driver has driving authority and cases when the vehicle has driving authority.

Abstract: A contact determination processing apparatus includes a contact sensor disposed in a steering wheel of and inside a vehicle. The contact sensor has an output that depends on a contact or non-contact state between the steering wheel and an occupant in the vehicle. The apparatus further includes a contact determination ECU that detects the contact state when the output of the contact sensor is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold, and detects the non-contact state when the output is less than the predetermined threshold. In addition, the apparatus includes a temperature detection module that detects the ambient temperature of the steering wheel. The contact determination ECU includes a threshold changing section that changes the threshold based on a detection result of the temperature detection module.

Abstract: A vehicle brake system includes a master cylinder that generates a hydraulic pressure according to an operation amount of a brake pedal, a vehicle stabilization device that generates a hydraulic pressure in response to a hydraulic pressure generation command received from a brake controller, and front brake operation sections and rear brake operation sections that are actuated by the hydraulic pressure generated by the master cylinder or by the vehicle stabilization device and that generate braking force on the vehicle. A brake controller actuates automatic braking when an impact has been detected by a collision detection sensor, and actuates the automatic braking with smaller braking force when an engine is stopped than when the engine is running.
