    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and device for maintaining service continuity. The method for maintaining service continuity includes: receiving, by a base station, a first notification, which is sent by an MCE, for stopping scheduling of an MBMS service; and notifying, by the base station, user equipment of MBMS service scheduling stop information, and continuing to schedule the MBMS service. In this way, a service interruption time that is caused when UE receives a service after an MCE stops scheduling of the service can be effectively reduced.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cell multicast service processing method and a device. The method may include receiving, by a first base station, a multicast service session start message sent by a multicast coordination entity. The method may also include sending, by the first base station, a multicast service session start failure message or a multicast service session start response message to the MCE, where the multicast service session start failure message indicates that a multicast service fails to be started for all the cells that are managed by the first base station and for which a multicast service session is to be started, and the multicast service session start response message includes an identifier of a cell for which a multicast service is successfully started among the cells that are managed by the first base station and for which a multicast service session is to be started.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications, and provide a communications method and apparatus, which can solve a problem in the prior art that, in order to save power, when a mobility management entity (MME) delays delivering a paging message or a UE uses a long discontinuous reception (DRX) period, an exception may occur in a serving gateway (SGW). The method includes: acquiring, by an MME, information of a UE (S101); determining, by the MME according to the information, whether the UE satisfies a first preset condition (S102); if the UE satisfies the first preset condition, generating, by the MME, a first indication, where the first indication is used for instructing an SGW to retain first data or discard first data, and the first data is downlink data of the UE (S103); and sending, by the MME, the first indication to the SGW.
