    Abstract: To configure a UT for handover between a source evolved Node-B (eNB) and a target eNB using aerial communications in a cellular network, the UE processing circuitry is to decode measurement configuration information from the source eNB. The measurement configuration information includes a plurality of height thresholds associated with aerial height of the UE. A measurement report is encoded for transmission to the source eNB. The measurement report includes the aerial height of the UE and the measurement report generation triggered based on one or more triggering events associated with the plurality of height thresholds. RRC signaling from the source eNB is decoded, the RRC signaling including a handover command. The handover command is based on a handover decision by the source eNB using the measurement report. A handover from the source eNB to the target eNB is performed based on the handover command.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for beam management techniques in new radio (NR) applications. Various embodiments describe how to manage beam monitoring including measuring and reporting in an NR network efficiently so that a UE that is capable of measuring a minimum number of beams may report measurement results corresponding to a maximum number of beams. Such a beam management may take into consideration UE capability and network handling capacity to achieve effective and efficient NR communications. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

    Abstract: Technology for a user equipment (UE) operable to perform measurements for measurement objects (MOs) in a New Radio (NR) system is disclosed. The UE can identify an MO configured by an NR network in the NR system, wherein the MO is associated with a synchronization signal block (SSB) of a frequency. The UE can measure the MO associated with the SSB for the frequency. The UE can encode a measurement report for transmission to the NR network, wherein the measurement report includes one or more measurements associated with the MO.
