    摘要: A condenser lens and a headlamp assembly employing the condenser lens improves control over the beam spread characteristics, while at the same time reduces the package size of the headlamp assembly. The condenser lens is provided for a projector-type headlamp assembly having a light source emitting light which is projected longitudinally downstream in front of a motor vehicle. The condenser lens generally includes a main body of light transmitting material. The main body defines a first surface receiving light from the light source and a second surface emitting the light. The second surface has at least one facet structured to spread the light and provide a predetermined beam pattern.

    摘要: A projector optic assembly is disclosed for use with various light emitting sources to collect direct the rays of light into a high gradient beam pattern. The projector optic assembly includes a light pipe and a projector lens. The light pipe is segregated into several regions including a reflecting region, a funneling region and a transition plane separating the two regions. At the first end of the reflecting region, closest to the light emitting source, is a connecting lens. At the second end of the funneling region is an emitting aperture that is designed to refract light into the high gradient beam pattern.

    摘要: An illuminator for use with a light source having a light distribution pattern within a solid angle of 2.pi. steradians. The light source comprises or includes a series of LED's or light pipes positioned at or near a focal point of a reflective surface and inclined at an angle to a focal axis of the reflective surface such that all of the light from the light source is collected and distributed by the reflective surface. Whereby the reflective surface is optimized to confine the light output only to the required photometric zones thus maximizing the efficiency of the illuminator.

    摘要: An apparatus includes a reflective surface for high efficiency collection, transmission and emission of light. Light collected by an ellipsoidal and hyperboloidal portion of the reflective surface is directed into a light guide. Additionally, a paraboloidal portion may be added and used in combination with a lens element to distribute the light reflected by the reflective surface in a beam pattern. When used as an emitter lens profile is smaller than the overall diameter of the reflective surface. When used as a collector, the reflective surface receives and concentrates light onto the end of a light pipe.
