Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of implementing a scatternet over a plurality of piconets using different frequencies in a Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN). In the scatternet implementation method of the present invention, a master of a first piconet transmits a scatternet request to a shared slave, and the shared slave switches a frequency thereof to a frequency of a second piconet and relays the scatternet request to a master of the second piconet. The master of the second piconet transmits scatternet approval to the shared slave. The shared slave switches the frequency to a frequency of the first piconet, relays the scatternet approval to the master of the first piconet, and is allocated resources, which do not overlap each other, by the masters of the first piconet and the second piconet. The shared slave switches frequencies and relays data between the first piconet and the second piconet while synchronizing with both the first piconet and the second piconet using allocated resources.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a demodulation method for enhancing decoding performance of information bits in a constant-amplitude multi-code biorthogonal modulation communication system, which performs encoding to cause the level of a transmission symbol to be constant. In the demodulation method of the present invention, a demodulator demodulates the received signal, the demodulator having four blocks. C (c≦2k, k is the number of information bits) bit streams with higher correlation values in descending order are selected and combined among demodulated bit streams to establish c4 bit stream candidates. A parity check is performed with respect to the c4 bit stream candidates, a candidate group having a maximal sum of correlation values is selected among candidate groups in which any error is not generated at the parity check. A bit stream corresponding to the selected candidate group is determined to be an output of a receiver. If a hypothesis in which any error is not generated does not exist, a bit stream determined using a maximum correlation value with respect to each of the blocks is output. According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that an error in reception bits can be detected or corrected, thus improving reception performance.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a server system for performing moving picture data communication with a client device over a wireless network, and an operating method thereof. A server device compresses the moving picture data received from an external medium at a variably controlled compression rate according to transmission bandwidth of the current wireless network and an image quality level set by a user in response to a request of the client device. Moreover, the server device transmits the compressed moving picture data to the client device in a wireless fashion. Therefore, transmission delay and playback delay can be avoided and data loss is avoided during a data transmission operation, such that stable data communication can be performed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a server system for performing communication over a wireless network. At least one client device transmits and receives data over the wireless network. A server device performs a state monitoring or controlling operation for the at least one client device. In the server device, an encoder compresses and encodes data to be transmitted that includes a double buffer storing the encoded data. A network renderer transmits the data encoded by the encoder to a corresponding client device over the wireless network. A buffer manager detects an overflow of the buffer storing the data encoded by the encoder and issues a control signal for pausing an encoding operation when the overflow is detected. Therefore, the server system can avoid data loss and system shutdown caused by transmission delay and can ensure stability of the server system performing communication with a wireless network.
Abstract:
Fabrication methods for semiconductor device structures are provided. One method for fabricating a semiconductor device structure involves forming a first layer of a first dielectric material overlying a doped region formed in a semiconductor substrate, forming a first conductive contact electrically connected to the doped region within the first layer, forming a dielectric cap on the first conductive contact, forming a second layer of a second dielectric material overlying the dielectric cap and a gate structure overlying the semiconductor substrate, and forming a second conductive contact electrically connected to the gate structure within the second layer.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are various methods of forming isolation structures on FinFETs and other semiconductor devices, and the resulting devices that have such isolation structures. In one example, the method includes forming a plurality of spaced-apart trenches in a semiconducting substrate, wherein the trenches define a fin for a FinFET device, forming a layer of insulating material in the trenches, wherein the layer of insulating material covers a lower portion of the fin but not an upper portion of the fin, forming a protective material on the upper portion of the fin, and performing a heating process in an oxidizing ambient to form a thermal oxide region on the covered lower portion of the fin.
Abstract:
An error correction module is disclosed whereby two bit cells are used to store a bit of information in a redundant manner so that a redundant error correction module can correct a sporadic data error at one of the two bits.
Abstract:
FINFET ICs and methods for their fabrication are provided. In accordance with one embodiment a FINFET IC is fabricated by forming in a substrate a region doped with an impurity of a first doping type. The substrate region is etched to form a recess defining a fin having a height and sidewalls and the recess adjacent the fin is filled with an insulator having a thickness less than the height. Spacers are formed on the sidewalls and a portion of the insulator is etched to expose a portion of the sidewalls. The exposed portion of the sidewalls is doped with an impurity of the first doping type, the exposed sidewalls are oxidized, and the sidewall spacers are removed. A gate insulator and gate electrode are formed overlying the fin, and end portions of the fin are doped with an impurity of a second doping type to form source and drain regions.
