The present invention discloses a fault localization method and a fault localization apparatus in a Passive Optical Network (PON) and a passive optical network having the same.A fault localization method in PON according to the present invention comprises a) configuring an optical path of a remote node (RN) selectively by electric power being fed temporarily only when necessary, while the PON is regularly being operated as a passive network; and b) detecting a fault occurring on the selectively configured optical path by inserting a monitoring signal of an OTDR unit, which is positioned in a central office (CO), through the selectively configured optical path.

The method includes; charging word-line signal lines to a pass voltage during a pass voltage charge operation, simultaneously executing an initial precharge operation for strings including program-inhibited cells during the pass voltage charge operation, and applying the pass voltage to word lines from the word-line signal lines in response to a block-selection enabling signal.

The present invention discloses a remote node (RN) configuration for providing an enhanced service in a passive optical network and a passive optical network (PON) having the same. In an RN configuration for providing a new service in a PON according to the present invention, it is possible to configure the RN remotely by instantaneous powering from a remote site only when necessary, while the RN being operated as a PON at ordinary times. More specifically, an RN configuration for providing a new service in a PON according to the present invention includes a power generation block capable of providing energy necessary for activating the RN by instantaneously supplied power from the remote site. Further, an RN according to the present invention further includes either one or both of a control agent block capable of controlling and managing optical paths of the RN by using power generated from the power generation block; and a reconfigurable switching block capable of configuring and switching the optical path of the RN through the power being provided from the power generation block and a control by the control agent block.

Disclosed is a system for displaying on calling partner terminal during call waiting information on a wireless terminal received via an Internet server through which a user stores a call connection community screen, with a message containing a call connection community screen is received via the Internet server and displayed for a calling partner during a call waiting in a wireless terminal. A predetermined field of the message is checked when a message is received from the messaging server in a call waiting status. If the predetermined field has a specific set value, the call connection community screen is extracted from the message and displayed on a display window, with the call connection community screen containing information of the calling partner. User individuality can be visually expressed to the calling partner during the call waiting and the call waiting time can be more efficiently utilized through the interactive screen.

Antenna switch modules and methods of making the same are provided. In certain implementations, an antenna switch module includes a package substrate, an integrated filter, and a silicon on insulator (SOI) die attached to the package substrate. The SOI die includes a capacitor configured to operate in the integrated filter and a multi throw switch for selecting amongst the RF signal paths. In some implementations, a surface mount inductor is attached to the package substrate adjacent the SOI die and is configured to operate in the integrated filter with the capacitor. In certain implementations, the inductor is formed from a conductive layer of the package substrate disposed beneath a layer of the package substrate used to attach the SOI die.
