摘要: A first positioning mark is formed at four corners of the outer side of the display area of a front substrate at the same step as the step of forming transparent electrodes. The first positioning marks are made of the same material as the material of transparent conductive films and formed in the same layer as a layer in which the transparent electrodes are formed. A second positioning mark is formed at four corners of the outer side of the display area of a back substrate at the same step as the step of forming partition walls. The second positioning marks are made of the same material as the material of glass layers containing white pigments and formed in the same layer as a layer in which the partition walls are formed. The positioning of the transparent display electrodes as well as the partition walls are directly carried out.

摘要: A method of designing an ophthalmic lens, including: determining specifications of a temporary lens to provide an optical power required by a wearer; applying the temporary lens to a prescribed schematic eye, and effecting emmetropization of an optical system including the temporary lens and schematic eye; obtaining an optical characteristic of the optical system at a position of an optical axis of the temporary lens which is offset from an optical axis of the schematic eye by an offset amount; obtaining successively optical characteristics corresponding to different configurations of the temporary lens with the axes of the temporary lens and schematic eye offset by the offset amount; selecting optimum one of the different configurations of the temporary lens which gives optimum one of the successively obtained optical characteristics; and determining specifications of an intended ophthalmic lens as a final product, based on the selected optimum configuration of the temporary lens.

摘要: In an ink-jet type recording head including a nozzle plate provided with nozzle openings, a spacer provided with partitions for partitioning pressure generating chambers, ink supply ports and reservoirs, and a plate member sandwiched and fixed together. Displacement of the plate member is produced by piezoelectric vibrators to thereby generate ink droplets. The spacer is formed by anisotropic etching of a silicon single crystal substrate so that the pressure generating chambers, the ink supply ports and the reservoirs are formed as through-holes communicated with each other. Accordingly, etching conditions for the respective through-holes are made equal to each other. Particularly, through-holes small in sectional area such as the pressure generating chambers and the ink supply ports can be formed with a high accuracy.

摘要: A service station for use in servicing one or more inkjet print cartridges includes a service station sled assembly movably attached to a service station chassis. The sled assembly includes at least one wiper and at least one cap. In one embodiment, the service station includes a cam and cam follower that interact to move the sled assembly. The cam is shaped so that movement of the cam to a first position causes each cap to contact a printhead of a corresponding inkjet print cartridge. Movement of the cam to a second position causes the cap to move away from the printhead and moves the wiper into a wiping position. In another embodiment, a service station according to the invention for use with a facsimile machine including inkjet printing apparatus includes a motor that is positioned so as to minimize the footprint of the service station. A method according to the invention includes the steps of positioning a print carriage adjacent to a service station including a sled assembly, and rotating a cam of the service station such that a cam follower of the sled assembly interacts with the cam to cause movement of the sled assembly.
