Abstract: Provided herein is a system and method for mitigating premature light deactivation of light deactivated adhesive drapes. One aspect provides a system comprising a drape, a photosensitive adhesive layer, and a release agent, where the system is adapted to be coupled to a tissue site and released therefrom upon or after exposure to an external stimulus such as certain wavelengths of light. The system may have a filter layer to prevent the photosensitive adhesive from being exposed to deactivation wavelengths prematurely. The filter layer may be printed directly onto the drape and may be removable after exposure to a solvent, such as isopropyl alcohol (IPA). The filter layer may also be a filter adhesive layer. Another aspect provides a method for application and removal of a drape using by removing one or more of the filter layer and/or the filter adhesive layer and applying light to the drape to deactivate the photosensitive adhesive layer and promote easy, clean, and less painful removal of the drape.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a reduced-pressure interface for connecting a multi-lumen conduit to a distribution manifold. The interface includes a housing having a flange portion and a cavity wall portion. The cavity wall portion forms a cavity having a tissue-facing cavity opening. The interface further includes an attachment device, a conduit port, and a multi-lumen conduit. The attachment device is coupled to a tissue-facing side of the flange portion for coupling the housing to a sealing member. The conduit includes a distal end and a proximal whereby the distal end extends through a conduit aperture and past the cavity wall portion into the cavity. The conduit further includes a primary lumen and a plurality of sensing lumens. The primary lumen and the plurality of sensing lumens extend from the proximal end of the conduit to the distal end. The conduit is adapted to contact the distribution manifold.

Abstract: A treatment system for debriding a treatment area of a tissue site and applying negative pressure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include an ultrasonic bubble generator fluidly coupled to a negative-pressure source, fluid source, and a dressing. Fluid may be drawn from the fluid source to the ultrasonic bubble generator, whereby micro-bubbles and ultrasonic waves may be generated in the fluid before the fluid is instilled to the dressing.

The system may further include a controller for controlling the negative pressure and the hyperoxic fluid so as to maintain the sealed space at a negative pressure while the hyperoxic fluid is provided to the sealed space.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for forming a multi-function core for a dressing are described. The multi-function core includes a contact layer configured to be positioned adjacent to a tissue site, a wicking layer adjacent to the contact layer, an ion exchange layer adjacent to the wicking layer, an absorbing layer adjacent to the ion exchange layer, a blocking layer adjacent to the absorbing layer, and an odor-absorbing layer adjacent to the blocking layer. The contact layer, the wicking layer, the ion exchange layer, the absorbing layer, the blocking layer, and the odor-absorbing layer are coextensive and formed from a plurality of fibers disposed in a fibrous web. Methods of manufacturing the multi-function core are also described.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative pressure to a tissue site are disclosed. Illustrative embodiments may include an apparatus or system comprising a dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure. For example, the dressing may comprise or consist essentially of a manifold and a contact layer. In some embodiments, the manifold may have a tubular shape with a central axis. The contact layer may comprise a polymer film completely or substantially enclosing the manifold in some examples. In further embodiments, the dressing may comprise a plurality of fluid restrictions in the contact layer, the fluid restrictions configured to open or expand in response to a pressure gradient across the polymer film.

Abstract: A multi-layer dressing for treating tissue with negative pressure, instillation, or both. In some embodiments a first layer may be formed from reticulated foam having a series of holes. A second layer disposed adjacent to the first layer may be formed from a perforated polymer. The dressing may optionally include a third layer formed from a soft polymer, such as a silicone gel. The third layer may also have perforations or apertures. The third layer is generally oriented to face a tissue site, and may be disposed adjacent to the first layer so that the first layer is disposed between the third layer and the first layer. The perforations or apertures in the third layer may be registered with one or more perforations in the first layer.

Abstract: A reduced-pressure treatment system for debriding a treatment area of a tissue site and applying reduced pressure is disclosed.
