    摘要: In one example embodiment, a molecular element is configured by bridging a gap between a source electrode and a drain electrode by a functional molecule. The functional molecule arises from covalent linkage of a side chain composed of a pendant molecule that has dielectric constant anisotropy and/or dipole moments and in which orientation change occurs due to an electric field to a main chain composed of a conjugated molecule in which structural change occurs due to the orientation change of the pendant molecule and an electrical characteristic changes. The molecular element is made to work as a diode, a transistor, or a memory by an electric field applied to the pendant molecule of the functional molecule by gate electrodes.

    摘要: The present disclosure relates to a data processing apparatus and a data processing method capable of generating evaluation index data for performing accurate and detailed evaluation of cultured cardiomyocytes.A motion detecting unit divides frame image data obtained by photographing the cultured cardiomyocytes for a predetermined time into blocks and obtains motion detection data in units of blocks per each frame period. A feature amount calculating unit calculates a feature amount for each block at the same position in a frame image using the motion detection data. A classification processing unit classifies each of the blocks into any one of a plurality of classification categories using the calculated feature amount. On the basis of the classification result, evaluation index data made of individual classification result data that represent correspondences between the blocks and the classification categories is generated.

    摘要: A cell culturing device includes: an electrode on a surface of which a hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity converting material adapted to be electrically changed between hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity is provided. In this case, the electrode is disposed within a region in which a cell to be cultured is adapted to be accommodated. With the cell culturing device, the application of the suitable voltage to the electrode changes the hydrophilicity/the hydrophobicity of the hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity converting material. Thus, the feed material adsorbed to the hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity converting material is desorbed, thereby making it possible to feed the feed material to the cell.

    摘要: A functional molecular element with a reduced contact resistance between the constituting molecule and the electrode, a method for production thereof, and a functional molecular device are provided herein. The method consists of the following steps. A closely adhering molecular monolayer is formed on the surface of the electrodes from a π-electron conjugated molecule (one species of linear tetrapyrrole) composed of the porphyrin-like nearly discoid skeleton and the flexible side chains (alkyl chains). A π-electron conjugated molecule of the same species as the one or different species from the one is piled on the monolayer by π-π stacking to form the array structure. As the result of the foregoing steps, the π-electron conjugated molecule constituting the first molecular layer of the array structure takes on such a configuration that the flexible side chains adsorb to the surface of the electrode and the discoid skeleton orients parallel to and adheres to the surface of the electrode. The second and subsequent molecular layers constituting the array structure have their piling direction controlled by the π-π mutual action.

A Lewis base molecule (14) with positive permittivity anisotropy or a dipole moment in the major axis direction of the molecule is disposed, via a metal ion (3) that can act as a Lewis acid, in a pendant-like form on a key molecule (2) in the form of a line or film that has a conjugated system and exhibits conductivity, thereby forming a functional molecular element 1 that can realize a function where the conformation changes due to the application of an electric field. The conductive key molecule (2) and the Lewis base molecule (14) form a complex with the metal ion (3). When an electric field is applied in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the paper in FIG. 1(b), for example, the Lewis base molecule (14) performs a 90° “neck twisting” movement with the up-down direction in the drawing as the axis. Also, when an electric field is applied in the up-down direction in the drawing as shown in FIG. 1(c), the Lewis base molecule (14) performs a “see-saw” movement with the direction perpendicular to the plane of the paper as the axis, thereby switching the conductivity of the conductive key molecule (2).
