    摘要: In the display panel (2) of an image display apparatus, a left-eye pixel (4L) and a right-eye pixel (4R) constitute a display unit (4) and have a nearly trapezoidal shape. A sub-pixel has a nearly trapezoidal aperture having upper and lower bases nearly parallel to the X-axis and two oblique sides oblique in directions different from the Y-axis direction. A nearly triangular shielding part is provided at the acute angle part of the nearly trapezoidal shape. The nearly triangular shielding part serves to create a gentle distribution of brightness and luminance of the image display apparatus, whereby 3D moire becomes less visible and 3D crosstalk is reduced.

    摘要: A display apparatus to be inspected includes: a display panel in which pixel groups are arranged; and an optical element for providing image display for N viewpoints (N is a natural number more than one) from the pixel groups. An inspection apparatus includes: a image output device for outputting a test pattern including image signals different in the respective viewpoints to the display apparatus; and an extraction device for extracting the slope and the position of a boundary line segment in an inspection image displayed on the display apparatus. The extraction device detects positional accuracy between the display panel and the optical element on the basis of the slope and the position extracted by the extraction device.

Provided is a display device which includes: a plurality of arranged display elements each including at least a pixel for displaying a first-viewpoint image and a pixel for displaying a second-viewpoint image, each of the pixels having a transmissive display area for transmitting light and a reflective display area for reflecting external light; and an optical device for distributing light emitted from each of the pixels to different directions from each other, wherein the reflective display areas of each of the display elements are arranged asymmetrically with respect to an axis that is perpendicular to an image distributing direction.

    摘要: A liquid-crystal display device makes it possible to attach an optical element to a liquid-crystal display panel with high positional accuracy while avoiding or minimizing the enlargement of the picture-frame region (i.e., the non-display region) induced by the formation of markers on the panel and the increase of the fabrication cost. The panel comprises a main substrate, an opposite substrate, and a liquid crystal enclosed in a gap between the main and opposite substrates, wherein a polarizer plate is attached at least to the opposite substrate. Markers for attaching an optical element to the panel are formed at positions that overlap with the polarizer plate in a non-display region on the main or opposite substrate. Alignment direction regulators regulate the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules to a predetermined direction in the vicinities of the markers, allowing light to pass through at least the opposite substrate.
