Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a frame including a partial association ID (PAID) in a wireless LAN (WLAN) system are disclosed. A method for receiving a frame at a station (STA) from an access point (AP) of a wireless communication system including: determining whether a value of a partial association ID (Partial AID) of the frame is calculated on the basis of an association ID (AID) allocated to the STA by the AP and a basic service set ID (BSSID) of the AP; and decoding the frame, if the value of the partial AID of the frame is calculated on the basis of the AID allocated to the STA and the BSSID of the AP, wherein the AID is allocated such that the partial AID value calculated on the basis of the AID allocated to the STA and the BSSID of the AP is not identical to a first PAID value calculated by applying a modulo operation to a specific value obtained by converting values ranging from a 40th bit position to a 48th bit position from among 48 bit positions of the BSSID of the AP into a decimal number.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for updating a listen interval in a wireless communication system. To this end, a method for updating a listen interval by a station (STA) of a wireless communication system may comprise, if an operation mode of the station is changed, a request frame including information indicating that the operation mode of the station is changed, to an access point (AP); and receiving a response frame in response to the request frame from the AP. If a value of a listen interval of the station is changed as the operation mode of the station is changed, the request frame further include a value of a new listen interval of the station.

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more specifically, disclosed are a method and an apparatus for accessing a channel in a WLAN system. A method for synchronizing channels from a station (STA) in the wireless communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving from an access point (AP) setting information with respect to an least one slot allowing channel access by the STA; receiving a synchronization frame from the AP from a slot boundary of the at least one slot; and synchronizing the channels on the basis of the synchronization frame, wherein the synchronization frame may be a null data packet (NDP) frame.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting channel information used by a station form among TV white space channels, and a method and apparatus for performing channel switching are disclosed. A method for transmitting information of a channel used by a station from among TV white space channels includes determining one or more channels used by the station from among channels contained in a plurality of OFDM blocks, wherein each OFDM block includes one or more contiguous channels from among the TV white space channels, generating a message including first information indicating the lowest channel number from among channels contained in a first OFDM block from among the plurality of OFDM blocks, second information indicating the lowest channel number from among channels contained in a second OFDM block, third information indicating the one or more channels used by the station as bitmap information, and fourth information indicating a total amount of bandwidth used by the station, and transmitting the generated message.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting a White Space Map information in a wireless local area network system (WLAN) is disclosed. A method of transmitting a white space map information from a first station to a second station in a regulatory domain where a licensed device and an unlicensed device are permitted to operate together in a wireless local area network (WLAN) comprises acquiring a first list of available channels at each location of a plurality of locations from a regulatory database; determining a second list of available channels at a white space zone (WSZ) using the first list of available channels at each location of a plurality of locations; and transmitting, to the second station, one of a beacon frame, a probe response frame and a white space map announcement frame comprising a white space map (WSM) element, the WSM element including information of the WSZ and the second list of available channels, wherein the WSZ is a geographical area in which common available channels are set.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and, more specifically, provides a method and device for transmitting/receiving a frame in accordance with the bandwidth thereof in a WLAN system. The method whereby a station (STA) performs virtual carrier sensing (VCS) in a WLAN system according to one embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving a frame by the STA; determining by the STA, a VCS time length value on the basis of the response indication parameter and/or channel bandwidth type of the frame; and deferring channel access by the STA for the VCS time length value.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a wireless communication system, and more particularly to a method for exchanging a frame for a low power device and an apparatus therefor in a wireless LAN system. A method for enabling an access point (AP) to exchange a frame with a station (STA) in a wireless LAN system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of receiving the information of the maximum awake time from the STA. When the frame exchange is expected to be accomplished within the maximum awake time, the frame exchange can be performed. When the frame exchange is expected to exceed the maximum awake time, the frame exchange is stopped, and a new back-off procedure can be invoked.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for transmitting a downlink in a wireless communication system. A method for transmitting the downlink in a WLAN comprises the steps of: an access point (AP) transmitting, to a plurality of stations (STA), each of a plurality of request to send (RTS) frames through each of a plurality of channels; and the AP receiving a clear to send (CTS) frame from at least one of the plurality of STAs through at least one channel from the plurality of channels, wherein each of the plurality of RTS frames may include channel information for indicating a channel to be used from among the plurality of channels when transmitting the downlink to each of the STAs, and identifier information for indicating the plurality of STAs.
Abstract:
A method for receiving operating class information by a station (STA) from an access point (AP). A frame including a country element is received by the STA. The country element includes one or more operating/subband sequences having an operating triplet. The operating triplet includes an operating extension identifier field, an operating class field and a coverage class field. If a predetermined condition is met, the STA identifies that information on the country element is for two frequency segments having an equal width. The predetermined condition is that the received frame comprises two consecutive operating/subband sequences having first and second operating triplets. The first operating triplet indicates a specific behavior mode and the second operating triplet indicates a behavior mode other than the specific behavior mode. If the predetermined condition is not met, the STA identifies that the information on the country element is for one frequency segment.
