A method for gaining access according to one embodiment of the present invention in which a station (STA) gains access to a medium in wireless communication system comprises the steps of: sensing a carrier wave for a medium so as to transmit a set frame; and, if the medium is busy, executing a random back-off procedure, wherein the starting point of the random back-off procedure is indicated by a second parameter randomly selected from within a range in accordance with a first parameter.

The present invention relates to a method and a device for updating system information in a wireless LAN system. A method for updating system information in a station (STA) of a wireless communication system may comprise transmitting, by the STA which stores system information and a configuration change count value of a previously linked preferred access point (AP), a probe request frame for active scanning to the preferred AP; and receiving a probe response frame from the preferred AP. Preferably, the probe request frame includes a configuration change count field previously acquired from the preferred AP, and if a value of the configuration change count field included in the probe request frame is different from a present configuration change count value of the preferred AP, the probe response frame may include one or more elements of system information which should be updated by the STA.

The present invention relates to a wireless communication system and, more particularly, to a method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving a frame supporting a short MAC header in a wireless LAN system. A method for receiving a frame by a station (STA) in a wireless communication system in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: receiving the frame including a sequence control (SC) field; determining a packet number (PN) using the value of the SC field and a partial PN value stored in the STA; and performing decryption for the frame using the PN. When the decryption is performed after reordering a block ACK for the frame, an operation can be performed to increase the partial PN value stored in the STA by 1 if the sequence number value of the SC field of the received frame is less than the previous sequence number value.

A method and an apparatus for channel access in a WLAN system are disclosed. A method by a station (STA) for channel access in a wireless local area network system, the method may comprise: receiving a frame; and determining if a wireless medium is idle using a time interval specified by an Extended Inter-Frame Space (EIFS) before performing a transmission in the wireless medium, wherein the EIFS is set to a dynamic value based on Cyclic Redundancy Code (CRC) status of a SIGNAL-A (SIG-A) field of the received frame.

The present disclosure relates to a wireless communication system and, more particularly, to a method and apparatus for multicasting/broadcasting in a relay network of a wireless LAN system. A method by which a relay entity delivers a multicast/broadcast frame in a wireless LAN system, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, includes the steps of: receiving a multicast/broadcast frame from an STA; and delivering the multicast/broadcast frame to a root access point (AP). The multicast/broadcast frame may be transmitted by the root AP in a broadcast scheme within a basic service set (BSS). In the multicast/broadcast frame transmitted in the broadcast scheme by the root AP, an address 1 (A1) field may be set to a multicast/broadcast address, an address 2 (A2) field may be set to a medium access control (MAC) address of the root AP, and an address 3 (A3) field may be set as a MAC address of the STA, which is a source address of the multicast/broadcast frame.
