Abstract:
Disclosed is a system for inspecting the attached state of a separable end stop attached to a slide fastener. The system is used with an apparatus for manufacturing a slide fastener equipped with a separable end stop. Fastener stringers are transported by a transfer unit while a separable end stop is attached to the stringers and a completed slide fastener is discharged by a discharge unit. The discharge unit operates in a first state for engaging and feeding a slide fastener, and a second state for allowing a slide fastener to pass freely therethrough. The transfer unit passes a slide fastener through the discharge unit and transports the slide fastener to an inspection apparatus located downstream of the discharge unit. The inspection apparatus grasps a separable end stop on a slide fastener delivered by being passed through the discharge unit by the transfer unit, whereby the transfer unit releases the slide fastener and is restored to a predetermined position for the manufacture of the next slide fastener.
Abstract:
A turbocharger includes a drive shaft to transmit a driving force of an actuator to a mechanism in the turbo housing, and a bush to rotatably support the drive shaft, wherein a seal is provided at an end portion on the open-air side of the bush. The seal includes a seal body made of resin and a metallic spring fitted into a recessed portion of the seal body, wherein an internal lip portion of the seal body is pressed by the elastic force of the spring to the outer circumferential surface of the drive shaft. Further, an end surface that is contactable with a member (drive link) disposed on the open-air side of the drive shaft is formed in the seal body. The seal having the above-described structure is provided at the end portion on the open-air side of the bush so as to achieve excellent sealability, so that this securely prevents exhaust gas in the turbo housing from passing through between the outer circumferential surface of the drive shaft and the inner circumferential surface of the bush and flowing out to the outside.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus, including: an identification information storing section that stores identification information for other printing apparatus; a restriction information storing section that groups the stored identification information, and stores restriction information that gives a restriction for using a function provided by a printing apparatus belonging to the same group; an information sharing section that mutually shares the stored identification information stored and the stored restriction information with printing apparatuses in the same group; an information controller that, upon update of the stored restriction information, controls to send the restriction information to other printing apparatus in the same group, based on the identification information mutually shared by the information sharing section; and a usage restriction section that restricts use of the function, based on the restriction information sent from the information controller to other printing apparatus.
Abstract:
An air flow amount passing through a centrifugal compressor is acquired on the basis of outputs of an air flow meter. A surge limit compressor rotation speed is acquired on the basis of the obtained air flow amount passing through the compressor. A current compressor rotation speed (turbo rotation speed) is acquired by a turbo rotation speed sensor. A rotation speed of the compressor is controlled on the basis of the surge limit compressor rotation speed and the current compressor rotation speed. More specifically, while being limited so as to be equal or less than the surge limit compressor rotation speed, a target compressor rotation speed is controlled so as to be a value according to the operating conditions, such as accelerator opening and engine speed, of an internal combustion engine. In addition, the surge of the compressor is judged on the basis of the surge limit compressor rotation speed and the current compressor rotation speed.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of extracting virus genes, which is excellent in quickness and convenience and can be automated, and this invention also provides an apparatus for such extraction of virus genes. A conductive hollow fiber membrane (module) 12 is immersed in a virus suspension 20 and thus viral particles suspended in the virus suspension 20 are captured in the conductive hollow fiber membrane (module) 12. The coating of the thus captured virus is lysed and the virus genes are released. Next, the virus genes are collected by subjecting the conductive hollow fiber membrane (module) 12 to at least one of an electrical treatment and a physical treatment.
Abstract:
A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine which is mounted in a vehicle and has a supercharger that is located along an intake passage of the internal combustion engine and driven by a motor, includes a controller which drives the motor to perform supercharging during warm-up of the internal combustion engine, and supercharges a plurality of times intake air to be supplied to the internal combustion engine. Accordingly, the intake air is supercharged a plurality of times during warm-up of the internal combustion engine, so the temperature of the intake air is raised sufficiently to warm up the engine, thus enabling the engine to be warmed up effectively.
Abstract:
A universal enclosure insect repellant enclosure is disclosed. An enclosure wherein at least one portion of the enclosure is comprised of a material incorporated with an insect repellant is provided. The enclosure may also comprise at least one opening. The at least one opening may include a door or a lid.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of preventing or treating a disease caused by oxidation in vivo by administering a pharmacologically effective amount of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of: (1) 2,5,7,8-tetramethyl-2-(&bgr;-carboxyethyl)-6-hydroxychromane; and (2) 2,7, 8-trimethyl-2-(&bgr;-carboxyethyl)-6-hydroxychromane. Further, it provides use of a compound selected from the group consisting of (3) &agr;-tocopherol, (4) &agr;-tocotrienol, (5) &ggr;-tocopherol and (6) &ggr;-tocotrienol for generation in vivo of any of the above compounds (1) and (2) to treat a disease caused by oxidated low density lipoprotein (LDL).
