Abstract: A lithium secondary battery including positive and negative electrodes including positive and negative electrode current collectors with elongated sheets, respectively, and a negative electrode external terminal electrically connected to the negative electrode current collector, and a negative electrode connection portion interposed between the negative electrode current collector and the negative electrode external terminal, wherein in the negative electrode, a lithium metal deposits during charging and the lithium metal dissolves during discharging, the positive electrode, the negative electrode, and a separator form an electrode group of a cylindrical wound body, and the negative electrode connection portion includes (i) an end portion along a longitudinal direction of the negative electrode current collector projecting from one end face of the wound body, or (ii) a plurality of negative electrode tab-leads electrically connected to the negative electrode current collector and extending from the one end face of the wound body.

Abstract: A lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode disposed opposed to the positive electrode, a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, a non-aqueous electrolyte having a lithium ion conductivity, and a spacer interposed between the negative electrode and the separator. Abstract: A lithium secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a nonaqueous electrolyte having lithium-ion conductivity. A negative electrode current collector includes a layer having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, first protrusions protruding from the first surface, and second protrusions protruding from the second surface. The first and second surfaces are surfaces on which lithium metal is deposited during charge. When viewed in a direction of a normal to the first surface, a total area of overlap between the first protrusions and the second protrusions is ½ or less of a total area of the first protrusions.

A1X is a sum of projected areas of the first protrusions on the first surface. A1 is an area of the first surface. A2X is a sum of projected areas of the second protrusions on the second surface. A2 is an area of the second surface.
