Abstract: In the present invention, an electrode terminal of a battery includes: a first connection part that encloses one side in an axial direction of an annular groove portion provided in a circumferential wall of the battery; a second connection part that encloses another side in the axial direction of the groove portion; and a bridge portion that connects the first connection part and the second connection part. When the swelling of the battery causes the groove portion to expand in the axial direction, the bridge portion ruptures and thereby blocks a current flowing between the first connection part and the second connection part.

Abstract: A positive electrode, which is an example of this secondary battery electrode, includes: a positive electrode core material; an electrically conductive adhesive layer disposed on the positive electrode core material; and a positive electrode mixture layer disposed on the adhesive layer. The positive electrode core material includes, at one end in a lateral direction of the positive electrode core material, an exposed portion where the adhesive layer and the positive electrode mixture layer are not disposed. An insulating protection layer that includes resin is disposed on the exposed portion of the one end. A predetermined gap is provided between the protective layer and an end surface of one end in the lateral direction of the adhesive layer.

Abstract: A battery including: a battery can including a cylinder portion including an opening edge portion at one end portion of the cylinder portion and a bottom portion that closes the other end portion of the cylinder portion; an electrode body; a sealing member that seals an opening of the opening edge portion. The sealing member includes: a sealing plate; a cap connected to the sealing plate and electrically insulated from the sealing plate; and a sealing portion sealing a space between the cylinder portion and the cap. The cap includes: a ring-shaped top plate portion opposing the opening edge portion in an axial direction of the cylinder portion; and a side wall portion covering an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder portion. The sealing portion may be a gasket provided between the cap and the cylinder portion in a compressed state. The cap is electrically connected to the cylinder portion.

Abstract: In a battery module including a plurality of battery blocks, the battery block is configured such that a plurality of assembled batteries each of which is formed of the plurality of batteries are arranged in parallel. Abstract: A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells each having a safety mechanism, a cell case having a plurality of battery housing parts for housing the plurality of battery cells respectively in a predetermined arrangement, an insulating member disposed on one side of each of the battery cells, and a duct serving as a route for exhausting exhaust gas discharged from the battery cells. The battery housing parts have a plurality of openings for housing the battery cells. The insulating member has a through hole formed at a position facing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses corresponding one of the battery cells, and a lid part for closing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses no battery cell. The exhaust gas is discharged to the route of the duct through the through hole of the insulating member.

Abstract: This positive electrode included in an electrode assembly includes a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture laver which is formed on the surface of the positive electrode current collector and which includes a positive electrode active material and a conductive agent. The positive electrode active material contains a lithium-containing complex oxide. The lithium-containing complex oxide has a layered rock salt structure, contains substantially no Co, and contains at least Ni and Mn. The Ni content in the lithium-containing complex oxide is not less than 70 mol % with respect to the total number of moles of metal elements excluding Li. The basis weight of the positive electrode mixture layer is not less than 250 g/m2. Three or more positive electrode leads are drawn out in the electrode assembly.
