    Abstract: In the present invention, an electrode terminal of a battery includes: a first connection part that encloses one side in an axial direction of an annular groove portion provided in a circumferential wall of the battery; a second connection part that encloses another side in the axial direction of the groove portion; and a bridge portion that connects the first connection part and the second connection part. When the swelling of the battery causes the groove portion to expand in the axial direction, the bridge portion ruptures and thereby blocks a current flowing between the first connection part and the second connection part.

    Abstract: A battery including: a battery can including a cylinder portion including an opening edge portion at one end portion of the cylinder portion and a bottom portion that closes the other end portion of the cylinder portion; an electrode body; a sealing member that seals an opening of the opening edge portion. The sealing member includes: a sealing plate; a cap connected to the sealing plate and electrically insulated from the sealing plate; and a sealing portion sealing a space between the cylinder portion and the cap. The cap includes: a ring-shaped top plate portion opposing the opening edge portion in an axial direction of the cylinder portion; and a side wall portion covering an outer circumferential surface of the cylinder portion. The sealing portion may be a gasket provided between the cap and the cylinder portion in a compressed state. The cap is electrically connected to the cylinder portion.

    Abstract: A battery includes a metal battery can that has a tubular portion having an opening edge portion and a bottom portion; an electrode body that is in the battery can; an electrolytic solution that fills the battery can; and a sealing member that has an outer peripheral surface facing an inner peripheral surface of the opening edge portion of the tubular portion and is configured to seal the opening edge portion.     Abstract: This positive-electrode active material for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries is provided with: an electrode assembly; a bottomed cylindrical exterior body having an outer diameter of 25 mm or more, that houses the electrode assembly and is connected to a negative electrode; and, a sealing body that seals an opening at the upper end of the exterior body and is connected to a positive electrode. The positive electrode includes a positive-electrode current collector, and a positive-electrode mixture layer formed on the surface of the positive-electrode current collector and containing a positive-electrode active material and an electroconductive agent. The positive-electrode active material includes a lithium-containing composite oxide having a chalcogen compound and/or a halogen compound adhered to the surface and a layered rock salt structure. Area basis weight of the positive-electrode mixture layer is 250 g/m2 or more. In the electrode assembly, three or more positive-electrode leads are led out.

    Abstract: In a battery module including a plurality of battery blocks, the battery block is configured such that a plurality of assembled batteries each of which is formed of the plurality of batteries are arranged in parallel. The battery has a positive-electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal on one end portion of the battery. The assembled battery includes a positive electrode bus bar for connecting the plurality of batteries in parallel and a negative electrode bus bar for connecting the plurality of batteries in parallel, which are disposed on one end portions of the batteries. On a boundary portion between the battery blocks, the positive electrode bus bars of the respective assembled batteries of one battery block and the negative electrode bus bars of the respective assembled batteries of the other battery block are respectively connected to each other in series by an inter-block connecting bus bar.

    Abstract: A battery module includes a plurality of battery cells each having a safety mechanism, a cell case having a plurality of battery housing parts for housing the plurality of battery cells respectively in a predetermined arrangement, an insulating member disposed on one side of each of the battery cells, and a duct serving as a route for exhausting exhaust gas discharged from the battery cells. The battery housing parts have a plurality of openings for housing the battery cells. The insulating member has a through hole formed at a position facing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses corresponding one of the battery cells, and a lid part for closing an opening of the plurality of openings that houses no battery cell. The exhaust gas is discharged to the route of the duct through the through hole of the insulating member.
