Abstract:
A PDP has a front and back substrates with a space between them. Barrier ribs in the space define discharge space groups. Each group has first, second and third discharge spaces. Each discharge space has an upper and a lower opening. Air-locking ribs seal the lower opening of the first discharge space, the upper opening and lower openings of the second discharge space, and the upper opening of the third discharge space. A first wall and the adjacent air-locking ribs defines a first channel which is accessible through each of the upper openings of the first discharge spaces. A second wall and the adjacent air-locking ribs defines a second channel which is accessible through each of the lower openings of the third discharge spaces. First, second and third gases respectively fill the first, second and third discharge spaces to emit different colored light.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for enhancing a speech signal contaminated by additive noise through Kalman filtering. The speech is decomposed into subband speech signals by a multichannel analysis filter bank including bandpass filters and decimation filters. Each subband speech signal is converted into a sequence of voice frames. A plurality of low-order Kalman filters are respectively applied to filter each of the subband speech signals. The autoregression (AR) parameters which are required for each Kalman filter are estimated frame-by-frame by using a correlation subtraction method to estimate the autocorrelation function and solving the corresponding Yule-Walker equations for each of the subband speech signals, respectively. The filtered subband speech signals are then combined or synthesized by a multichannel synthesis filter bank including interpolation filters and bandpass filters, and the outputs of the multichannel synthesis filter bank are summed in an adder to produce the enhanced fullband speech signal.

Abstract:
Self-polymerization of mono-aziridine (or azetidine) and multi-aziridine (or azetidine) containing compounds with vinyl group containing organic acid, such as acrylic acid (AA), 2-methylenesuccinic acid, 2,3-dimethylenesuccinic acid and etc, at ambient temperature results in the new type of cross-linked and linear type copolymers, respectively. The polymerization of multi-functional aziridine (or azetidine) containing compounds with vinyl group containing organic acid results in the formation of high cross-linked polymers. The self-polymerization takes place at ambient temperature and the resultants, cross-linked polymeric networked materials, are solvent insoluble and potential for adhesive, composite matrix and other applications. These insoluble materials are hydrolyzed in an acidic or basic condition to form the water soluble β-amino acids.A linear poly(β-aminoester) is obtained from the self-polymerization of vinyl group containing organic acid with mono-aziridine (or azetidine) containing compound at ambient temperature. poly(β-aminoester) is applicable for gene transfer, controlled drug release and other applications. This self-polymerization process offers a convenient route for preparing poly(β-aminoesters).

Abstract:
A plasma display panel(PDP) is disclosed. The PDP includes a rear plate, a front plate spaced apart and positioned in parallel with the rear plate, and a plurality of barrier ribs positioned in the space between the rear plate and the front plate to define a plurality of discharge space groups. Each discharge space group includes a first discharge space, a second discharge space, and a third discharge space. Each discharge space is filled with the different discharge gases including a first, a second, and a third discharge gas for respectively emitting of one of three primary colors. The rear plate of the PDP has a reflecting layer to reflect the light and prevent the light from penetrating through the rear plate so as to increase the luminescent efficiency of the PDP.
Abstract:
A handlebar gear shifter includes a sleeve rotatably mounted to the handlebar from which a support plate extends. An L-shaped mediate member has an end pivotally connected on the support plate and a first cable has one end thereof engaged with a recess in the sleeve and the other end of the first cable is engaged with the mediate member. A second cable is connected between the mediate member and a derailleur mechanism. A C-shaped member having notches is connected to the handlebar and a spring member is engaged with the sleeve. An index member is biased by the spring member and removably engaged with one of the notches. The mediate member is pivoted by rotating the sleeve which pulls the first cable, and the second cable is pulled together with the mediate member to shift the gear.
