    Abstract: Methods for mobility indication of wireless Access Points (APs) are disclosed. An AP may determine mobility indication information, based, in part, on at least one of: configuration information on the AP pertaining to mobility; and/or wireless signal measurements associated with the AP, and/or captured images associated with the AP, and/or sensor measurements associated with the AP. The AP may transmit the mobility indication information for the AP. The mobility indication information may indicate that the AP is mobile and/or characterize the mobility. The mobility indication information may further include a request to remove information associated with the AP from location determination databases, location assistance databases, and/or base station almanacs. Disclosed methods also pertain to a User Equipments (UE), which may receive wireless signals with mobility indication information associated with an AP; and determine a suitability of the AP for determining the UEs location based on the received mobility indication information.

    Abstract: Embodiments of apparatuses and methods of power optimization in VLC positioning are disclosed. In one embodiment, a mobile device may include image sensors configured to receive visible light communication signals, a memory configured to store the visible light communication signals, and a transceiver configured to receive positioning assistance data of a venue, and a controller configured to: decode one or more light fixtures within a field of view of the mobile device to obtain corresponding light fixture identifications, determine a motion of the mobile device with respect to the one or more light fixtures based on the light fixture identifications and the positioning assistance data of the venue, and switch the image sensors of the mobile device to a reduced duty cycle state based on the motion of the mobile device with respect to the one or more light fixtures within the field of view of the mobile device.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a system, apparatus, computer readable storage medium, and method to perform a bandwidth efficient network based positioning (NBP). A positioning request for a mobile device is received within an environment, the environment comprising one or more access points (APs). An AP coverage area including the mobile device is determined. A NBP load for the AP is measured, wherein the NBP load comprises a direct NBP load and an indirect NBP load. If the NBP load is less than a threshold, the AP is instructed to process the first positioning request. Multiple APs may process positioning requests concurrently and positioning requests may be scheduled according to timeout and/or relative expiration.

    Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, devices, apparatus, computer-/processor-readable media, and other implementations, including a method to process one or more light-based signals that includes determining mobile device data and coarse previous field-of-view (FOV) data representative of pixels of a light-capture device of a mobile device that detected light-based signals from at least one light device located in an area where the mobile device is located, determining, based on the mobile device data and the coarse previous FOV data, predicted one or more pixels of the light-capture device of the mobile device likely to receive light signals from one or more light devices, in the area where the mobile device is located, capable of emitting one or more light-based communications, and activating the predicted one or more pixels of the light-capture device.

    Abstract: A method of locating a target device includes: producing, at a query device, a request for a location of a target device, the query device including a first radio, of a first type, configured to communicate wirelessly using a first communication protocol, the target lacking a radio of the first type but including a second radio, of a second type, configured to communicate wirelessly using a second communication protocol, the second communication protocol being incompatible with the first communication protocol; and transmitting the request wirelessly, from the query device to a first intermediate device, using the first radio.
