Abstract: A system includes: an interface; and a processor configured to: receive one or more search criteria from the interface, the one or more search criteria being a first portion of a search query; determine a second portion of the search query based on the first portion of the search query and an association of the first portion of the search query with an entity, the search query being a request for a location of a target device associated with the entity; cause a transceiver of the interface to transmit the search query wirelessly in one or more outbound electronic signals to a first intermediate device; receive one or more inbound electronic signals from the first intermediate device via the interface, the one or more inbound electronic signals including a location of the target device; and cause the interface to provide an indication of the location of the target device.

Abstract: A wireless communication device includes: a memory; a transceiver; and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and to the transceiver and configured to: obtain a first device identity for each of a plurality of first radio-frequency (RF) devices each configured to transmit a wireless RF signal; obtain a mobility status for each of the plurality of first RF devices, the mobility status indicative of whether the respective first RF device is expected to be mobile or static; obtain an RF signal measurement for each of the plurality of first RF devices; and produce a profile of the plurality of first RF devices using the first device identity for each of the plurality of first RF devices, the mobility status for each of the plurality of first RF devices, and the RF signal measurement for each of the plurality of first RF devices.

Abstract: A method of associating environmental context with wireless access points is disclosed. In some embodiments, a method on a user equipment may comprise determining at least one environmental context associated with a subset of one or more Access Points (APs) visible to the UE at an estimated location of the UE. The at least one environmental context associated with the subset may be determined based on one or more of wireless measurements by the UE, and/or sensor measurements by the UE. Further, at least one AP cluster may be determined by clustering the subset of the one or more APs visible to the UE based on the at least one environmental context and the estimated location. Environmental context for APs may be crowdsourced and stored and provided to a UE as location assistance information to facilitate location determination and other functions.

Abstract: Embodiments of methods and apparatuses for peer discovery in transactional mobile applications are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of peer discovery includes receiving from a server, at a first device, a meeting location and information for communication with a second device, obtaining a series of location data related to the second device, where the location data is based on a non-device-to-device positioning, determining whether to perform a direct device-to-device positioning with the second device using the meeting location and information for communication with the second device, performing a series of last-stretch direct device-to-device positioning measurements between the first device and the second device in response to a determination to perform the direct device-to-device positioning with the second device, and identifying the second device based on the series of last-stretch device-to-device positioning measurements between the first device and the second device.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for improving reliability in mobile device positioning. A mobile device generates position data for a device, receives a first access point position reliability state associated with the first access point, determines a reliability of the position data based on the first access point position reliability state and an estimated location of the first access point, determines a threshold reliability requirement of an application associated with the mobile device, compares the reliability of the position data to the threshold reliability requirement of the application, and provides the position data of the device based on the comparison. A network entity determines access point characteristics associated with an access point, generates a position reliability state for the access point, sends the position reliability state to a mobile device, receives position data associated with the mobile device, and determines a trustworthiness of the position data.
