摘要: In a digital cartographic system for processing geographic information, a map projection of a map is converted. The map projection transformation is carried out with a coordinate value in which longitude and latitude are set to a center by way of a linear interpolation so as to simplify a calculation required for transforming the map projection, and also not depending upon a map projection to be converted. Also, after the transformation process operation, a reference line such as longitude/latitude and an equiangular line is superposition-displayed/overlapping-displayed in order to assist an analysis, in response to a demand. In accordance with the present invention, a map can be shown with correctness of a distance and correctness of azimuth by performing various sorts of map-projection transformation, the digital cartographic system can support an intuitive idea of a user, and also can improve an information representation function of this digital cartographic system.

摘要: A navigation system in which a more preferable path can be quickly searched for by using map data in a form easy of maintenance, and which is well suited for installation on a vehicle. A map data memory unit stores therein the road data of roads which belong to management areas, for each of the management areas of predetermined extent and shape and for each of hierarchies corresponding to sorts of the roads. A path search/guidance control unit searches for the path which extends from a current point decided by a positioning unit, to a destination point set by a set input unit. The pat search is made in such a way that nodes connecting with the roads in higher hierarchies and paths extending to the nodes are searched for from the current point and from the destination point, sequentially in the respective hierarchies from the hierarchies corresponding to the current point and the destination point up to the hierarchy corresponding to a distance between the point of departure and the destination point, the connecting nodes and the extending paths being searched for as to each of the respective hierarchies and on the basis of the road data of the pertinent hierarchy relevant to the management areas which lie within limits of a size corresponding to the pertinent hierarchy, and that a path is searched for between the nodes which have been searched for and which connect with the roads in the hierarchy corresponding to the distance between the point of departure and the destination point. Further, the path search/guidance control unit gives a guidance suggestion on a display unit through a display control unit.

摘要: A sheet conveying device, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes a pair of rotary bodies configured to convey a sheet and correct a positional deviation of the sheet, a pair of downstream side sheet conveying bodies disposed downstream from the pair of rotary bodies in a sheet conveying direction and configured to convey the sheet, and a detector configured to detect separation of the pair of rotary bodies. The pair of rotary bodies moves the sheet by moving from a home position on a sheet conveyance passage through which the sheet passes. The pair of rotary bodies moves to the home position while the pair of downstream side sheet conveying bodies is conveying the sheet, in response to detection of the separation of the pair of rotary bodies by the detector.

摘要: A series of conveyance paths to convey a recording medium is formed across a printer and a post-processing device in a printing system. The printing system includes: a detection unit that detects that the post-processing device has entered a predetermined state; and a paper feeding control unit that limits the number of recording media fed to the conveyance path, when it is not detected that the post-processing device has entered the predetermined state, based on the number of recording media conveyable to the post-processing device after the post-processing device enters the predetermined state.

摘要: An optical apparatus includes a first optical amplifier for adjusting an output value to a constant level; an optical signal processor located before the first optical amplifier and processing the optical signal; a second optical amplifier located before the optical signal processor and subjected to automatic gain control for adjusting a gain constant; and a controller detecting a level of the optical signal at an output of the second optical amplifier. The controller adjusts a level of an output value of the first optical amplifier such that the level of the optical signal at the output of the second optical amplifier is held at the optimum value if the detected level of the optical signal differs from an optimum value, compensates for a loss caused in the optical signal processor and maintains the level of the optical signal at the output of the second optical amplifier at the optimum value.
