    Abstract: There is disclosed a novel method for the preparation of an organopolysiloxane which has two or three diorganohydrogensiloxy groups at one and only one end of the molecular chain terminal. The method of the invention is particularly useful in that it produces high yields of the desired organopolysiloxane. The method comprises causing a condensation reaction between (A) a hydrogen or lithium terminated polysiloxane and (B) an organopolysiloxane having two or three diorganohydrogensiloxy groups at one terminal of the molecular chain and a halogen at the other terminal of the molecular chain.

    Abstract: In a method for controlling a lens of an image forming apparatus, the lens is moved at a high speed from a present position till passing a home position, and thereafter the lens is moved at a low speed in the reverse direction to stop at the home position. Waste of time can be decreased and rapid control of the lens can be achieved by high speed movement of the lens to a position near the home position, and the lens can be precisely stopped at the home position by low speed movement of the lens before stopping.

    Abstract: An occupant protection device includes a plurality of gas generators that actuate respective mechanisms, and a control portion that actuates the gas generators. If a condition for actuating at least one of the gas generators is fulfilled and a condition for actuating the other gas generators are unfulfilled, the other gas generators are controlled by the control portion at a timing that is uninfluential on an actuation state of one of the mechanism actuated by the one of the gas generators and that is different from a preset timing for actuating the other mechanisms actuated by the other gas generators.
