There is disclosed a novel method for the preparation of an organopolysiloxane which has two or three diorganohydrogensiloxy groups at one and only one end of the molecular chain terminal. The method of the invention is particularly useful in that it produces high yields of the desired organopolysiloxane. The method comprises causing a condensation reaction between (A) a hydrogen or lithium terminated polysiloxane and (B) an organopolysiloxane having two or three diorganohydrogensiloxy groups at one terminal of the molecular chain and a halogen at the other terminal of the molecular chain.

In a method for controlling a lens of an image forming apparatus, the lens is moved at a high speed from a present position till passing a home position, and thereafter the lens is moved at a low speed in the reverse direction to stop at the home position. Waste of time can be decreased and rapid control of the lens can be achieved by high speed movement of the lens to a position near the home position, and the lens can be precisely stopped at the home position by low speed movement of the lens before stopping.

The backing portion is made of thermoplastic olefin which is softer and has a greater elongation. The backing portion includes a reinforcing portion at a back of the door portion, a surrounding base at the back of the covering portion, and a hinge portion joining the reinforcing portion and the surrounding base.
