摘要： A toner for developing an electrostatic image is composed from a composition including: polymer components, a colorant, a wax and a charge-controlling agent. The polymer components are characterized by (a) containing substantially no THF (tetrahydrofuran)-insoluble content; (b) containing a THF-soluble content giving a GPC (gel permeation chromatography) chromatogram showing a main peak in a molecular weight region of 3.times.10.sup.3 -3.times.10.sup.4, and a sub-peak or shoulder in a molecular weight region of 1.times.10.sup.5 -3.times.10.sup.6, and (c) including a low-molecular weight polymer component having molecular weights of below 5.times.10.sup.4 on the GPC chromatogram and an acid value A.sub.VL, and a high-molecular weight polymer component having molecular weights of at least 5.times.10.sup.4 and an acid value A.sub.VH satisfying A.sub.VL >A.sub.VH. The wax has an acid value A.sub.VWax satisfying A.sub.VL >A.sub.VWax and A.sub.VWax >0 (mgKOH/g). The toner is characterized by a good combination of low-temperature fixability and anti-offset characteristic, a stable chargeability, and freeness from sleeve ghost phenomenon.

摘要： A toner and a two-component developer for developing electrostatic images are disclosed. The toner comprises toner particles and the two-component developer comprises the toner and a carrier. The toner particle has a two-layer structure of a core layer and a surface layer, produced by suspension polymerization. The core layer and surface layer are mainly comprised of a resin having a low softening point and a resin having a high softening point, respectively. In the surface layer, a polyester resin having a specific acid value and a specific molecular weight is included to impart an appropriate water absorption to the toner. Due to the appropriate water absorption and superior fluidity, the toner can achieve a speedy rise of charge to give electrostatic charges in a stable quantity over a long period of time, and it can give a high image density and images with superior fine-line reproduction and highlight reproduction.

Additionally, the transfer device is a multiple-transfer device.

摘要： An electrophotographic toner showing a good fixability onto recording paper is constituted by at least a binder resin and a colorant, the binder resin comprising a resin component having a polar group, the binder resin having a molecular weight distribution according to gel permeation chromatography including a peak in a molecular weight region of 5.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.4. The toner is used to develop an electrostatic image formed on a electrophotographic photosensitive member including at least an electroconductive support, a charge generation layer and a charge transport layer, and the resultant toner image is transferred onto a recording medium without difficulties such as occurrence of cracks on the photosensitive member or inferior transferability by using a photosensitive member having a surface layer containing a transition metal atom at 0.1-10 ppm. The surface of the photosensitive member may preferably show a fluorine atom/carbon atom (F/C) ratio or/and a silicon atom/carbon atom (Si/C) ratio, respectively, of 0.03-1.0 as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

摘要： A method of heat-fixing a visible image of toner to a recording medium comprises applying a toner image onto the recording medium, whereinthe toner to form said toner image or the resin component of the toner has the properties such that the melt viscosity .eta.' measured by an overhead-type flow tester is from 10.sup.3 to 10.sup.6 poise at a temperature within the temperature range of from 120.degree. C. to 150.degree. C., and the absolute value of the inclination of a graph is not more than 0.50 ln (poise)/.degree.C. when the natural logarithms ln.eta. of the melt viscosities at 120.degree. C. and 150.degree. C. are plotted with respect to the temperatures; and heat-fixing the toner image retained on the recording medium to the recording medium by use of a heater element as stationarily supported and a pressure member that brings said recording medium into close contact with said heater element through a film interposed between them.

摘要： The present invention aims to provide a toner having excellent developability and excellent low-temperature fixability without causing adhesion of ejected sheets even in a high-speed oilless fixing system and capable of preventing a frameless printing from causing a twisted offseting phenomenon. Specifically, provided is a toner having toner particles including at least a binder resin and a colorant, in which, when the toner is dissolved in a tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent at 25° C. for 24 hours, the ratio of a THF-soluble matter having an intrinsic viscosity of 5.0×10−2 dl/g or less with respect to the total amount of the THF-soluble matter in a GPC-RALLS-viscometer analysis is 15.0 mass % to 60.0 mass %, and the ratio of a THF-soluble matter having an intrinsic viscosity of 1.5×10−1 dl/g or more with respect to the total amount of the THF-soluble matter in a GPC-RALLS-viscometer analysis is 20.0 mass % to 40.0 mass %.
