Abstract:
This specification discloses a recording apparatus which is capable of representing half-tones of an image. The apparatus is provided with a device for varying the spot size of a recording beam on a recording medium in accordance with the density information of the image to be recorded in order that the half-tones of the image may be represented by the use of a screen dot system. This device causes aberration to the optical system used therein, to thereby vary the size of the beam spot impinging on the recording medium and if required adjust the quantity of light of the beam to create spots of different diameters. Thus, without relatively increasing the power of the beam, it is possible to provide beam spots of various diameters to thereby enable representation of a half-toned image.
Abstract:
The disclosure describes a scanning optical system in which the scanning beam from a light source is deflected by a beam deflecting device to scan the scanning plane through a scanning beam focusing lens. The scanning optical system comprises a member disposed between the beam deflecting device and the focusing lens for reflecting a part of the scanning beam a plurality of times within the member so as to take up part of the beam as an information beam.

An information processing system includes an information processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes first circuitry to receive a designating operation for executing lamination processing, and transmit image data and designation data indicating that the designation operation for executing lamination processing has been received. The image forming apparatus includes second circuitry to receive the image data and the designation data, form an image on a recording medium based on the image data, and execute, in response to receiving the designation data, the lamination processing on the recording medium on which the image is formed with film.
Abstract:
A transaction processing system includes an application server having a transaction processing unit, a process monitoring unit, a database server having a database, and a database management unit. The transaction processing unit sends a transaction identifier for identifying the transaction to the database management unit, requests a session process, and outputs the transaction identifier to the process monitoring unit. The process monitoring unit receives the transaction identifier, receives a session identifier for identifying the session process returned by the database management unit, and sends an instruction to terminate the session process to the database management unit after a certain period of time, and the database management unit creates the session identifier, correlates the session identifier with the transaction identifier which are stored, starts the session process, returns the correlated session identifier to the process monitoring unit when receiving the transaction identifier, and terminates the session process when receiving the instruction.

Abstract:
A polymer of ethylenically unsaturated monomer, for example, 1,3-butadiene, having a desired molecular weight and distribution thereof is produced, with a high stability, by preparing a solution of hydrogen in an inert organic solvent for the monomer in which a vapor-liquid phase equilibrium of hydrogen is attained, and then by addition-polymerizing the monomer in the hydrogen-dissolved inert organic solvent in the presence of a catalyst preferably including a metallocene complex of transition metal compound, an inert compound of a non-coordination anionic compound with a cationic compound, an organic metal (aluminum) compound and, optionally, water.
Abstract:
A monomer such as butadiene monomer and/or styrene monomer is polymerized using an organic lithium initiator, and the active terminal of a (co)polymer thus obtained is modified with a specific modifier having reactivity with a silica surface, e.g., .gamma.-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane and .gamma.-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane, and then the terminally-modified (co)polymer is mixed with a silica in an organic solvent. The rubber obtained can be used in a tire tread and the like.

Abstract:
Novel silicon-containing derivatives of crystalline, high-trans-1,4 polybutadiene in which organosilicon-containing groups are bonded to the 1,2-vinyl carbon atoms along the main chain of the butadiene polymers through the carbon-silicon linkages. These derivatives of butadiene polymers are produced by the addition reaction of an organosilicon-compound having one hydrogen atom directly bonded to the silicon atom in the molecule to the double bonds in the 1,2-vinyl group butadiene polymers. These derivatives having good compatibility with siliceous fillers and when blended with filled diene rubbers are cured to elastomer compositions having excellent properties suitable for the production of tires.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a rolling-mill roll of a barrel-width adjustable type improved in strength by preventing stress concentration in a torque transmission structure for transmitting the torque from drive side roll to another roll. The connecting rod coaxially projected from the drive side arbor is inserted into the sleeve, and the rolls are mounted onto the circumferences of the connecting rod and the sleeve. The connecting rod and the sleeve are supported in a housing via bearings and are coupled with each other by a screw shaft mechanism so that the sleeve is axially movable to vary the barrel width. The complementary engagement between the spline or key for transmitting the torque of the arbor to the sleeve is made at a position offset outward from the axial center of the sleeve bearing so that the complementary engagement is not affected by the bending of the roll due to the rolling reaction and thus a stress concentration is prevented.
