    摘要: A filter for an air cleaner is produced by impregnating a fiber web composed of one or more layers with a liquid binder in the form of solution, suspension, or emulsion. The impregnated fiber web is dried such that the solvent or dispersing medium on one side evaporates faster then that on the other side. As the result, more binder is deposited on one side than on the other side; in other words, a gradient of binder distribution is formed. The thus-produced filter has such a structure that the voids among fibers continuously change across the thickness, while fibers are bonded together by the binder. The filter thus produced can collect more dust than a conventional one.

    摘要: A cyclone type air cleaner has a cylindrical housing having a tangential air inlet formed in the peripheral wall of the housing and an air outlet formed in the upper end wall thereof. A downwardly converging frusto-conical member having a central opening is disposed in the housing coaxially therewith to divide the interior of the housing into a first or upper swirling chamber and a lower space in which a cylindrical or annular member is disposed coaxially with the central opening to define therein a second or lower swirling chamber communicated with the upper swirling chamber through the central opening. The cylindrical or annular member cooperates with the housing peripheral wall to define a dust-collecting chamber communicated with the lower swirling chamber through an annular gap defined between the frusto-conical member and the cylindrical or annular member. An axial flow type filter element is disposed between the upper swirling chamber and the air outlet.

The apparatus may further include a parametric speaker for generating a supersonic sound of the notification sound from a supersonic sound generation unit. The supersonic sound is emitted from a sound emission opening. The parametric speaker may further include a reflected sound pressure detecting unit for detecting a sound pressure generated by a reflection of the supersonic sound from the sound emission opening. The sound pressure supplement unit increases the sound pressure of the notification sound radiated by the dynamic speaker based on the sound pressure detected by the reflected sound pressure detecting unit.

Both the notice sound via the parametric speaker and the notice sound via the dynamic speaker reach the ears of a person outside the vehicle in different sound pressures based on a difference between the first directionality and the second directionality. A sound tone of a notice sound actually heard by the person outside the vehicle varies according to a travel direction and travel speed of the vehicle.

    摘要: According to a method for producing a duct, a cylindrical preform, which opens at its both end portions in a longitudinal direction and has a central part, is formed. The central part is narrowed with respect to the both end portions. The central part has a smaller cross-sectional area than that of the both end portion. The preform is formed from a thermoplastic material, which increases in strength when stretched. Next, the preform is heated. Then, stretch blow molding is performed on the preform by stretching the preform in axial and radial directions thereof, such that the cross-sectional area of the central part becomes generally the same as that of the both end portion, or equal to or larger than that of the both end portion. The central part is narrowed to such an extent that it retains predetermined strength after performing the molding on the preform.

    摘要: An air intake system includes an intake pipe and a throttle body. The throttle body is inserted in a middle section of the intake pipe between upstream and down stream ends so as to define an intake passage. The throttle body movably receives a throttle valve which opens and closes the intake passage. Flow blocking members are integrally formed with the intake pipe for blocking specific fluid, such as condensate of intake gas, from flowing into the throttle valve in the intake passage. Therefore, it can prevent the specific fluid from sticking to the throttle valve. Besides, because the throttle body need not to be integrally formed with the flow blocking members, a dimensional accuracy of the throttle body can be secured.
