    摘要: An internal combustion engine employs a multiple throat carburetor which supplies a lean mixture to each main chamber and a rich combustible mixture to each auxiliary combustion chamber. Exhaust gases from each main chamber are used to heat the incoming rich mixture to a relatively high degree and to heat the incoming lean mixture to a lesser degree. The intake passage for the incoming lean mixture is placed directly above a chamber in the exhaust passage and is separated therefrom by a first shield in the form of a substantially horizontal metallic plate. A multiple throat carburetor is positioned directly above a chamber in the intake passage for the lean mixture and is separated therefrom by a second shield, substantially horizontal, comprising a metal plate with an upturned peripheral edge.

    摘要: An air-cooled engine for a working machine includes a fan cover, a muffler protector, and an insulator. The fan cover has a guide opening for guiding a cooling air toward an exhaust muffler. The muffler protector has air discharge holes for discharging the cooling air, which has been introduced through the guide opening into a guide passage, in a direction away from the working machine. The insulator has a deflector section bent toward a carburetor so that the cooling air having passed through another guide passage between the insulator and cylinder barrel is guided by the deflector section in a direction away from the working machine.

    摘要: An insulator is provided with a housing section integrated with an insulating section at a lower portion thereof. The housing section forms a part of a housing of an acceleration pump. Accordingly, the acceleration pump can be disposed at a space around the insulator, which is conventionally a dead space. Thus, a dedicated space for installing the acceleration pump is not required, which achieves space saving. Further, since the acceleration pump is disposed directly around the insulating section, even when a duct that intercommunicates an insulator leading-air passage and the acceleration pump is used, the length of the duct can be reduced to simplify a structure of the interconnection. Furthermore, since the housing section is integrated with the insulating section, the number of components can be reduced to reduce costs and facilitate assembly of the acceleration pump.

    摘要: A first and second baffle formed of a thin sheet metal material are introduced into an engine induction system on the upstream side of air fuel metering device and interposed between the air fuel metering device and a tubular intake runner in order to prevent post engine shut down fuel boiling. The first and second baffles absorb heat from the induction system and dissipate heat to the surrounding atmosphere. The first and second baffles are sized sufficiently large to limit peak fuel temperature in the fuel metering device 130° F. when a hot engine is shut down in a 70° F. environment.

The intake insulator comprises: portions for supporting and securing a carburetor; an intake passage through which air-fuel mixture from the carburetor is introduced to the engine; portions for securing the intake insulator to the engine each comprising a through hole for a bolt and a counterbore for accommodating a head of the bolt; and a channel formed on a circumference of a bottom of the counterbore.

    摘要: Disclosed is an engine fuel supply apparatus which can be made smaller in size and in which the amount of fuel in an air-fuel mixture can be increased with a fast response in correspondence with the operation of a throttle valve when the engine is accelerated rapidly. The fuel supply apparatus is provided with a fuel booster pump. A portion of an air-fuel mixture is introduced into a negative-pressure chamber of the fuel booster pump via a negative-pressure chamber channel, and the fuel booster pump is actuated. The actuation forces air in a pump chamber to flow into a pressure chamber, and fuel in a fuel storage chamber is temporarily supplied to a carburetor.

    摘要: An insulator is provided with an acceleration pump attachment on the lower side of an insulating section. An acceleration pump is attached to the acceleration pump attachment. A passage is provided on the lower side of the insulating section. A conduit is provided on a connecting surface which contacts an engine to intercommunicate between an insulator air passage and the passage. A connecting passage is provided on an upper portion of the acceleration pump to intercommunicate between the passage and a negative-pressure introducing chamber. Thus, the acceleration pump can be easily disposed in a space at the lower side of the insulator, which is conventionally a dead space. In addition, an outer pipe to intercommunicate between the insulator and the acceleration pump is not required, whereby space saving can be achieved and a structure of interconnection can be simplified.
