Abstract: A Next Generation network device receives, from a user equipment device (UE), a Service Request for establishing a Multimedia Priority Services (MPS) session. The Next Generation network device determines whether the Service Request includes a MPS fallback request to request network fallback from a Next Generation network to a Fourth Generation (4G) network for the MPS session. The device causes, based on the Service Request including the MPS fallback request, establishment of the MPS session from the UE device via the 4G network by performing one of: a handover procedure from the Next Generation network to the 4G network, or a Radio Resource Control (RRC) redirection procedure from the Next Generation network to the 4G network.

Abstract: A user equipment may receive thermal mitigation guidelines. The user equipment may generate one or more temperature thresholds based on the thermal mitigation guidelines. The one or more temperature thresholds may define a first temperature zone and a second temperature zone. The user equipment may detect a temperature of the user equipment. The user equipment may identify whether the temperature occurs in the first temperature zone or the second temperature zone. The user equipment may select an action to perform based on whether the temperature occurs in the first temperature zone or the second temperature zone. The user equipment may perform the action to maintain or reduce the temperature of the user equipment.

The device can identify, using the APH component included in the device, a user equipment route selection policy (URSP) rule, associated with the application, included in a URSP. The device can identify, using the APH component, a network slice specified by the URSP rule associated with the application and a data network specified by the URSP rule associated with the application. The device can attempt, using a modem component included in the device, to establish the data session using the network slice specified by the URSP rule associated with the application and the data network specified by the URSP rule associated with the application.

Abstract: Systems and methods for Next Generation to Long Term Evolution (LTE) fallback are provided. An exemplary method includes detecting a request to set up a voice call originating from or terminating at a user equipment that is connected or configured to connect to a Next Generation mobile network; transitioning, in response to the request to set up the voice call, the user equipment from having a Next Generation mobile network connection with the Next Generation mobile network to having an LTE network connection with an LTE network, the detecting and the transitioning performed without call setup being performed for the voice call via the Next Generation mobile network; and performing call setup for the voice call via the LTE network connection with the LTE network.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for allowing User Equipment (“UE”) to connect to base stations of a wireless network based on base station support for packet switched (“PS”) one or more voice service types that are implemented by the UE. The UE may indicate one or more PS voice types implemented by the UE when registering with the base station. Additionally, or alternatively, the base station may broadcast an indicator of the type(s) of PS voice supported by the base station, based on which the UE may determine whether to register with the base station.

Abstract: A device may connect to a first wireless network; determine whether the first wireless network provides a particular service for determining a position of the device; select the first wireless network as a primary network if the first wireless network provides the particular service for determining a position of the device, or select the second wireless network as the primary network if the first wireless network does not provide the particular service for determining a position of the device. If the device selects the first wireless network as the primary network, the device may send a first request to the first wireless network to make a first emergency call to an endpoint over the first wireless network.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for a policy and/or rules element of a core network, such as a Policy Control Function (“PCF”), to identify a first network slice with which a communication session between a User Equipment (“UE”) and a core network, such as a protocol data unit (“PDU”) session, is associated. The policy and/or rules element may identify a second network slice with which the communication session should be associated, such as based on traffic monitoring, network congestion monitoring, or other criteria, and may output an indication, indicating a second network slice, to a session control element, such as an Session Management Function (“SMF”). The session control element may cause the communication session to be moved from the first network slice to the second network slice based on receiving the indication.

Abstract: Systems and methods described herein enforce access controls for network slices via proxy in a secure enclave of a user equipment (UE) device. A UE device executes, in a rich execution environment (REE), a function or application designated for using one or more secure network slices of a telecommunications network. The UE device executes, in a trusted execution environment (TEE), a slice admission control proxy (SACP) to perform admission control for the one or more secure network slices, and forces network traffic for the function or application through the SACP.
