Abstract:
A recording apparatus for and a method of handling an error occurring when recording information on an optical disc. An existing ECC block on the optical disc is read in response to a first record command provided by a superior apparatus. If an error occurs in the reading of the existing ECC block, an error occurrence report is provided to the superior apparatus which formulates a second record command based on the error occurrence report and the information is recorded in another ECC block on the optical disc according to the second record command.
Abstract:
The electrostatic protection device includes a semiconductor substrate having a well formed therein. At least two sets of transistor fingers, for example the NMOS type, are spaced apart from each other. Each set of the MOS fingers includes multiple gates arranged in parallel to each other in one direction, and sources and drains alternately arranged at both sides of the gates in the semiconductor substrate. A well pickup surrounding every set of the transistor fingers and extending between any two set of the fingers is formed. Metal wires are connected to at least two portions of each of the drains and are also connected to an input/output pad to which Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) excessive current is introduced.
Abstract:
An emotion-based software robot for automobiles, in which a driver's emotion and behavior caused by such emotion are anticipated when each input such as a driver's states, commands, and behaviors, automobile situations, automobile environmental situations, etc., is recognized based on results learned with respect to a change in emotion of each individual driver offline, as well as each piece of vehicle information, is assigned a priority, so that services provided by a telematics system, etc., can be selectively implemented to conform to a driver's mood.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling an air conditioner, in which operation time periods of an outdoor unit is integrated, to determined a time point when an oil recovery operation is performed, and performing the oil recovery operation only when a summed rates, or a number of indoor units accessed with communication is higher than a value preset at a control unit.
Abstract:
An air conditioning system and an apparatus for protecting the same. The air conditioning system comprise an outdoor unit, a plurality of indoor units connected to the outdoor unit by each refrigerant line, and a refrigerant line closing unit installed at the refrigerant line of the indoor unit for preventing a refrigerant flowing on the refrigerant line of the indoor unit from being introduced into the outdoor unit when power supply to one or more indoor units is cut off.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a control method for a multiple heat pump. In the control method, when one of multiple indoor units operates in the heating mode and the other indoor units shut down, electronic expansion valves of the shutdown indoor units are controlled to have an opening degree higher than a standard opening degree if an outlet temperature of compressors is higher than a preset temperature, so as to permit a liquid refrigerant, remaining in the shutdown indoor units, to be more readily recovered to the compressors. This eliminates a refrigerant shortage phenomenon of the compressors and prevents deterioration of heating performance as well as reduction of life-span of the compressors.
Abstract:
A composition of a plasma display panel (PDP) is disclosed. In order to effectively reduce a jitter, the composition contains a ferroelectric transparent ceramics material.
Abstract:
An extension to existent vector instruction sets is presented in a form of new vector instructions which perform operations specialized for efficient digital video compression and decompression. A processor is designed to implement the arithmetic operation of each of these instructions in a single clock cycle, and some of the present instructions perform arithmetic operations selectively and directly on elements of the same registers.
